Taken from Ridge rd, Kallista overlooking the Yarra Valley

Shot this back in November, 2004, when the grass was much greener, and there was water in the dam. There’s only been water in that dam one other time since then, and it lasted around 6 weeks….this is a nice reminder of what we used to have…. Sold this a number of times pre-redbubble, mostly A3 size, and it won me a $1500 prize from the Brisbane City Council, as well the John Herbert medal at APSCON 2005, and also a number of other smaller prizes. This was sold december 2008 on redbubble as a matted print. Dawn at Garie Beach, Royal National Park just south of Sydney, Australia. A seagull very obligingly flew into shot as I was taking this. Can you spot the silhouetted fishermen? / I’m lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen – it’s only a little national park (14,000 ha) but the variety of stuff to photograph is simply endlessly inspiring. Glenmore Reservoir, Calgary, Alberta, Canada This was one my very first photo’s I took. There were many things I had not yet picked up. I had the iso on auto, which I think for this photo was about 400 – 800. This led to much of the noise in the sky. I had the aperture set at f22, which at the time I thought was best to bring more of the photo in focus but I later found it can soften the overall image. I also did not own a tripod so I had to balance the camera on some rocks which made composing the scene much harder then normal and led to a small amount of camera shake. In the end though this became the first photo I had taken that I was truly proud of and solidified my passion for photography.
