Shot this back in November, 2004, when the grass was much greener, and there was water in the dam. There’s only been water in that dam one other time since then, and it lasted around 6 weeks….this is a nice reminder of what we used to have…. Sold this a number of times pre-redbubble, mostly A3 size, and it won me a $1500 prize from the Brisbane City Council, as well the John Herbert medal at APSCON 2005, and also a number of other smaller prizes. This was sold december 2008 on redbubble as a matted print. Dawn over Loch Voil, (outside Balquidder, Scotland) This is the 6th in a series of 8 images taken that morning (note 5 preceding starting with ‘first light’) taken with my brandnew and very first point and shoot digi camera (a fujifinepix a500) ‘dawn mist’ and is followed by ‘dawn mist rising’ taken just after this one with the frost still on the ground… Then some hours later this lucky shot from a layby ‘mirror calm scottish loch’ / / 5 earlier images are ; / ‘first light’: ‘early mist’: ‘blanket mist’: ‘mist tree’: and ‘tree light’:

The SS Dicky was washed ashore onto Dicky Beach in 1893 during a cyclone. It was re-floated, but again, heavy seas turned the ship about and back onto the sand where it remains to this day. / / The suburb and beach was named after the ship. The beach is an unspoilt stretch of sun-drenched sand, on Queensland’s magnificent Sunshine Coast. Taken with my 5D and 16-35mm lens and I was so lucky to have a nature spectacle as the fog rolled in from West creating a mystic ambience I have also written a photographers guide if you are interested in knowing more about this site

This was taken at a dam in Oakbank in the Adelaide Hills, Australia in winter at dawn. We don’t get any snow in Adelaide, as our summers are very hot. There is still some fog around on the water. This is pure bliss to me. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera, on a tripod. This was taken because of the mood created with the fog, the winter sunlight lighting up the boat and the 3 waterfowl swimming in the opposite direction to the boat.

In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. Featured on the RedBubble homepage on Monday, 9th February, 2009 ! / Featured in the group “Italy and all Italian things”. / Thank you so much!!! / Featured on October 10th 2009 – Thank you!!! / We took a trip to Tuscany in October 2006 and stayed for one night in a most beautiful place called San Giminiano. I got up really early in the morning to find the whole landscape beginning to glow in the morning light. Swathes of mist rested in the vales of this beautitul landscape. “Tuscan Dawn” was also taken (a little earlier) on this morning. It was one of those times when dragging yourself out of bed before dawn was well, well worth it! This work is absolutely “as is” work. No manipulation at all, just what we saw! /

Caught ‘up the sware’ (a local viewpoint) at dawn yesterday ( 23/9/08) as the sun rose over the tweed valley just outside Peebles, scottish borders. Misty haunting morning this morning, sitting in a pine plantation at Mt Burr in the Limestone Coast area of South Australia. Last hints of fog lifting as the sun rose towards a clear blue sky. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with ND4 filter. Three shot HDR converted in Photomatix and cropped to size. Damn it was cold!!!!!!!!!!

Out early this morning to watch the sun rise through the fog in a pine plantation at Mt Burr – Limestone Coast South Australia. Certainly worth the cold to see the beauty as the sun tried to force its way into the forest. Natures strength showing the small re-growth forcing its way up amidst the towering trees. Canon 400D 18 – 55 with ND4 filter. Processed in Photoshop CS3.
