Water drops caught in a Mottlecah flower. Shallow depth-of field. Kings Park
Sunrise reflection of coastal reeds in a small estuary at Geographe Bay, Quindalup.
Nine multiple exposures (each 30 seconds apart) on a windy day. I used a polerizing filter to reduce each exposure time (1/4 second at f22). The clouds have moved and blurred over the four and a half minutes. Taken at UWA
Flat Wattle – as the yellow flowers die off they are replaced with red seed cones. This section shows these changes at differing stages of decay and development. It took five years to find this small section of plant that shows the changes from flowering to seed production. Taken in Kings Park, Perth.
Flower of eucalyptus caesia subspecies magna, shallow depth of field. Taken at Kings Park
Spent three hours shivering while waiting for the sun to poke its head out and light up the rock. It did so for a couple of minutes and I managed this shot. The bonus was the beginning of a rainbow (that didn’t get any bigger!) – looks a bit like a volcano. Three images combined in Photomatix.
Slide sandwich of first light on a Jacaranda tree with a fresh wind blowing coupled with a textured slide of rust. Hyde park, Perth.
Sunrise at Carine Swamp – freezing cold winters morning.
Sand dunes north of Jurien Bay. It was amazing how many diffent colours and tones we found. Please view LARGER!
Taken an hour before dawn. A five minute exposure allowed the one nearbye floodlight to illuminate the posts of the jetty.
Small section of a palm trunk at Kings Park.
Another image made on my recent holiday.

We went away for the weekend to Albany for a wedding. I had a couple of hours to photograph early Sunday morning. Drove around like a mad thing trying to find a subject – but without success. Got back to the hotel and found this tiny iron cottage right next to it! Another lesson learnt – less rush = more seeing.
Early morning misty sunrise Lake Gwelup
A little piglet warm and cozy after a drink from mum. / Taken at Royal Showgrounds Perth.
These marks have been made on the hull of a boat by impacts while the boat was in the water. Or maybe it was the owners tools as the boat is in the process of being restored. It matters not to me. What matters is my excitement at finding an image with texture, shape and line. VIEW LARGER I have been working on making a series of abstract images from boats at a Maylands boatyard where old boats in dry dock are brought back to life.
Reeds and plants in dry lake bed of Lake Gwelup taken at first light as sun’s rays moved across from left to right. Multiple exposures of 9 shots moving with the suns direction.
