From the ‘Beach’ and ‘Inspired’ Series of art by Karin Taylor ‘Iliki’ Spirit of Aloha II is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper using ink, pastel, acrylic and charcoal. My darling ‘Illiki’ was inspired by James Michener’s novel ‘Hawaii’ and the beautiful young hawaiian girl who is one of the charming characters early on in the story. I was completely swept away during the reading of this incredible novel, highly recommended reading :D The original imaged has been digitally enhanced to create a grungier look for a funky fashionista tshirt dude/dudess :D

Am dedicating this to Nichole Schoff who bmailed me about 2mths ago, requesting a cow tshirt.. i feel so bad that i took so long to do this.. So sorry, Nicole.. n_n” Introducing Schmoo!!! Schmoo’s inspired from a cow i had back when i was working as a web designer.. Schmoo was a very quiet boy.. always there beside me as i work.. he’s very soft and cuddly!! i really love it when clients visit and saw him on my table.. lolz!! believe it or not, i’ve been trying to vector this design the last 3 days, but just couldn’t get it right.. OO” yea.. that bad… it’s just.. u know.. sooooo annoying when you can’t agree with the curves… i keep tweaking and tweaking and tweaking.. i got soooo annoyed, i decide to just try scan the actual drawing at 1200 dpi and voila!!! 8D eheheh… will keep trying to vector it.. i don’t believe i can’t vector it.. i will get the curves right!!! rofl~ XD Update: Here’s Schmoo, Vectored!! =D My Animal Friends Series: / Collaboration Designs with Karin: / Check out my profile for a quick thumbnail listing for all my designs! =D

I have also used a variety of found objects, including lace and ribbons…and an especially beautiful gold paint for the wings which were underpainted first to created texture. On of my favourite paintings, my heart and soul went into this piece…two sweet little girls in darling dresses hanging out in the garden together….what could be nicer.

From the ‘Asia Series’ by Karin Taylor This dear little asian girl has stolen my heart! She’s so sweet and shy. She wears a traditional chinese costume with her feet slightly turned in. Flowers in her crazy ‘updo’ hair secured with a couple of chopsticks! Chinese Red Fan Girl stands before a warm glowing screen, patiently waiting for her little friend from Japan, ‘Little Blue Kimono’ to arrive. Chinese Red Fan Girl wears a pair of geta on her tootsies, a gift from ‘Little Blue’ The kanji symbols in the background on the screen translate into ‘One’s Dearest Wish’ There is also a card available in this design Little Red Chinese Fan Girl Card /
