This for you Terez , my lovely daughter , she died when she was nearly 15 …… Thank you my friends your comments and support mean a lot to me. I had this pain bottled up in me so so long… but I knew and hoped with time passing things will change and turn out good… I was right, things started to unfold last week and I could just see and feel it. Working with this wonderful model just inspired me and brought all those feelings up from my heart, bones and my most inner part. “Gift of Love” is the English Translation from Hawaiian. I have photographed this family for many years as they grow and expand; three generations of loving images. The father is a working ranch hand on Maui’s large Ka’ono’ulu Ranch. Yes, a real Hawaiian cowboy—known here as a paniolo. Funny story: I submitted this image to iStockphoto knowing its value in stock would be huge. Well, like most of my submissions, it was rejected. This time they called it PORNOGRAPHY!!!! I almost had to laugh…. and cry. Well, at this point I am glad it it not in the public domain as stock. I’ll wait for the perfect client to come along and do this image proud!

by Karin TaylorThis is all about dressing up in your finest fun clothes, mum’s pearls and kimonos, fur stoles etc. She is clutching her dolly under her arm :) / Maya is a mixed media painting recently completed. She has been altered quite a lot digitally as I was not happy with the actual original painting, I’ve taken this back to give this a vintage look. My little niece Maya is so beautiful, half Indonesian as is my other niece Indiana…gorgeous children both. After I finished this, it reminded me a bit of Maya, hence the title.

/ / A little bit of nostalgia running through this drawing, with the good old love beads, i always love wearing love beads, and I still have some which are orange and lime … and another strand of blue and white. You can wear them so many different ways. The image was drawn in pencil on cartridge paper in my A3 spiral bound art journal and after photographing I coloured her digitally on the computer. Before I took the photo I actually painted her ‘love beads’ with acrylics and inks…and i stuck a fimo flower on her beads, which i made for another application, and then painted it naples yellow with a white centre.

Here is a re-worked image of my little girl and my husband which was on RB a while ago.. I keep coming back to it so finally decided to play with it and here it is… I originally had this image in colour but got some great advice from a fellow bubbler to try it in b&w so I did…... This image was taken when my little girl fell over on the rocks and hurt her knees and her daddy gave her a piggy back to the car before the storm came.
