  • Fathers have a talent for creating and supporting life, being a positive guiding light within the family unit – risking being a living example for their children, by becoming a leader without followers… / tkrosevear 2008 This is a submission for Art and Stories for Children’s challenge for Father’s Day poster.

  • High in the mountains of Timor-Leste, in a hamlet outside the town of Maubissie, I stayed with Jose and his family. His daughter, Louisa, never left his side, working with him in the coffee fields, and walking for hours looking for food. Their mother had died about a month ago. I love the way she slightly rests against his powerful arm but still looks independent and strong.

  • Watercolor painting, 11×14, on Fabriano soft-pressed paper, 300 lb.

  • My better half and our two “Yin/Yang” daughters in the backyard here in Geelong, Vic, Australia. / Natural light only, slight contrast added during processing. / Sony A200

  • My husband’s best friend with his two kids. / We were visiting them for a party and all of the kids and dad’s were outside playing. I noticed the evening light that was shining on the back of their property and thought it would be a good back light and the leaves on the trees a good background. I told Tim to get his two kids together and I would snap a few. / I don’t normally do families so this is my first “Family Portrait”. I only wish the wife and mother could have been in there but she was setting up for the party. Any criticism and advice would be appreciated! As is out of the camera. I think my camera was actually on the sport setting since they were all playing, and I was using my 70-300 lens. Remember-I don’t know terms and I just point and shoot! :)

  • This was taken Saturday May 16/09 at my grandaughter’s birthday party – this is her uncle with his daughter – what a gorgeous couple – zoomed in to get the close up – the baby is 10months old and her name is Isabella, her dad is a white Canadian and her mum is from Trinidad / Canon S5 / focal 21.mm / aperture f/3 / ISO 200 / exposure 1/8

  • This was taken at Papago Park about a year & a half ago. We went looking for ducks but they were all on the other side so they decided to skip rocks until the ducks came over. And they did! /

  • My husband & daughter in the pool. They have a lot of fun. My daughter is 4 & she dives in the deep end, does canon balls & she even does a back dive! Ok it’s more of a back flop but she gets better as she goes! lol Without her floaties she sinks straight to the bottom of the pool but with them on she’s unstoppable! She’s nuts! lol /
