Self portrait of me holding my new girl Isla. Yes that is love in my eye.
When I feel nostalgic, I close my eyes and see a beautiful autumn moon, which is the clearest and the largest of any season. I see the fun-loving, shape-shifting raccoon (tanuki) because they equally love the beautiful autumn moon. I see a rabbit on the moon, making rice cakes for the children. I see a memory lane leading from the moon, and myself, five year old, with my father, walking along the path. Originally acrylic painting
it was a little hard because the socks kept being to white and overexposed, but i think this looks pretty cute and i got what i was goin for :o) / xXxOoO
Done in pencil, pen, Prisma colored pencils
Taken on the street in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I’ll let this one speak for itself …

The early morning sun streaming through the East window of our bedroom enhanced the warmth of this tender moment between my daughter and her father. She loved Saturday mornings because of the opportunity to snuggle up closer to her father when he didn’t have to leave for work. I relinquished my place in our bed to grab my camera and capture this special time. This picture was taken 10 years ago, and my little girl is now a teenager who still loves to crawl up into her daddy’s lap. On a spiritual note, I have spent many years trying to sort out the “character” of God… His presence in our lives, if He is demanding or compassionate? When I see this picture I understand the heart of a father towards his child and I can believe that I am cherished by our Father in Heaven. Some people believe there is no God. I can understand that too. But to borrow a quote from a favorite movie of mine, (Second Hand Lions) “Sometimes the thing we need most to believe in may or may not be true.” Whatever you choose to believe in, if it is good for your heart, then cling to it with all your might. Surely you are still our Father! Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us, LORD, you would still be our Father. You are our Redeemer from ages past. / NLT Isaiah 63:16 A tender greeting for a Father’s Day card! / /
A young father introduces his little girl to the sea. Standing with my own father next to me, I got a little emotional while taking this shot.
Daddy slipped and slid down the bank, finally rolling the covered bundle off into the dirty, fetid water of the canal, where it floated…

Why Princess? My 2 year olds suggestion – that’s why. I always ask my girls what I should call my images and this time my 2 year old called out “princess”. / “why” I asked her. / “because it’s pretty” she replied That’s why we take photo’s. Paul Actually not a princess at all – a succulent from the front yard. In my dreams, I could be a Princess, and that’s what I was. Like most little girls, I believed nothing less than a Prince could make my dreams come true. / Loretta Young

Look into the eyes of this clown. Do you see even a little part of your own soul? If the answer is YES, Betty has achieved her goal. There are several ways to express happiness, pain or other emotions in art. An artist I know said “Every artist paints or draws at least one clown in their career”. Why do you as the viewer suppose this is true? Personally, I think it is. Why? – because it is a way to express the pain or joy we all feel in any given time in our lives. / As many of the portraits of clowns in times past, an illustration of the personal frustration with the circumstances we all face in our lives reflects in this work. The Orignal painting was sold to an Art Collector from NY. My Harlequins are acting strange because they are “dying”, becoming extinct…we don’t want them anymore, we don’t need them anymore…:( / People forgot to laugh, people forgot to smile…the society does not make any effort to bring back the “rainbow colored” good disposition. / The Harlequins have so much to give to us, all we need to do is take it…all they want to see that we are happy. / Why to live if we can not give…..?
