Me and my daughter Melanie in her teens, battling it out. Took the shot myself with the camera on self timer. Just told her to yell as loud as she could. It was scary how natural this came to her. Raising a daughter, especially through her teens, is about as emotionally draining as it gets. I knew support groups were available, but I opted for the mental scars… time will tell if that was the right path!!
Well my long suffering hubby and my 2 babies are taken out every weekend to take photos. So on any given Sunday this is what we do. They actually got to dress up this weekend which they thought was a nice change..
Hmmm when you can have an understanding of each other and need (want) one another…that has alot to do with love. Oil on canvas, an older image but i thought i would post it.
Illumination at its best. Beautiful card, or art work in the home. Love this shot of a Hydrangea. Modern, contemporary. Paul fine art photography
One of my fist break through images and remains one of my most popular. Remember it was my first shot of my new camera. If only they all turned out like the first. / Regards / Paul fine art photography / macro photography Paul Hamilton / Photographic artist, buy art, photography, fine art photography
This is on the Kapiti coast of NZ a place called Raumati you can see Kapiti Island in the shot .
Grounded
Done in pen & pencil. i wanted to add words, but thought it might ruin the picture. i wanted Father Grim Reaper tell his daughter Azmerelda that Rex the Dog’s ear is falling off, & she needs to resew it back on . And Azmerelda says “Yes, Father”. Anyway, the sewing jobs on Rex, the Cat Sparky & Glomp the Rat aren’t very clear, Azmerelda sews ears on them since they are skeletons they would not normally have ears
The early morning sun streaming through the East window of our bedroom enhanced the warmth of this tender moment between my daughter and her father. She loved Saturday mornings because of the opportunity to snuggle up closer to her father when he didn’t have to leave for work. I relinquished my place in our bed to grab my camera and capture this special time. This picture was taken 10 years ago, and my little girl is now a teenager who still loves to crawl up into her daddy’s lap. On a spiritual note, I have spent many years trying to sort out the “character” of God… His presence in our lives, if He is demanding or compassionate? When I see this picture I understand the heart of a father towards his child and I can believe that I am cherished by our Father in Heaven. Some people believe there is no God. I can understand that too. But to borrow a quote from a favorite movie of mine, (Second Hand Lions) “Sometimes the thing we need most to believe in may or may not be true.” Whatever you choose to believe in, if it is good for your heart, then cling to it with all your might. Surely you are still our Father! Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us, LORD, you would still be our Father. You are our Redeemer from ages past. / NLT Isaiah 63:16 A tender greeting for a Father’s Day card! / /
Desmond John Spittall / 28.09.51-24.03.08 The original photograph of me and my dad was taken by my mum Liz Spittall when i was young (obviously), on our farm in Currumbin Valley. I treated it in PS to create an image i feel reflects us, as me and dad were quite similar. / I wanted to share this with the Bubble community as perhaps there can be some healing in sharing? REMEMBER WHEN ONLY MEMORIES REMAIN… The clouds outside my window are heavy and grey today… / connected… / reflecting the state of my heart. Distant memories of times gone by play over in my mind… / suspended moments in time… / People, faces forgotten from years past. / Good times and bad, a minds photographs. Gone is my rock, my constant… / my shining light amoungst the maddness. / I want you here to hold me… / to make my world seem right. My super hero… / protector… / whats a girl do without her dad? Imprinted on my heart are some stars you left behind… I hear your voice somewhere in my sleep… When the tears fall again it will be for my heart, / for now you are safe… / at one with the eternal… Forever… Remember when only memories remain… I am so proud to be your daughter… / I love you Dad…xo
You embed your trust into an anvil and tie it to my guts.
This is a short-story/open letter of a sort. It marks my first completed attempt at writing about a subject I have struggled with for many years. Thank you Bell for the inspiration. And thanks to those of you who read it, because my Dad always wanted everyone to read. Dad, this is for you.
Here (again) is my little girl and my hubby.. He was carrying her because she wanted cuddles as she was cold..
“Gift of Love” is the English Translation from Hawaiian. I have photographed this family for many years as they grow and expand; three generations of loving images. The father is a working ranch hand on Maui’s large Ka’ono’ulu Ranch. Yes, a real Hawaiian cowboy—known here as a paniolo. Funny story: I submitted this image to iStockphoto knowing its value in stock would be huge. Well, like most of my submissions, it was rejected. This time they called it PORNOGRAPHY!!!! I almost had to laugh…. and cry. Well, at this point I am glad it it not in the public domain as stock. I’ll wait for the perfect client to come along and do this image proud!
When I grow up…..! Just a bit of fun after a bottle of wine : ) See my video on YouTube
I have had this image and a couple of others hidden from view – I thought I might as well publish it .. I have a few unpublished that are in black and white which I will publish also. I hope you like :) This is the black and white version of A Blue Day.
The Power of Music has been on my mind lately. I took this shot and a couple other ones of this fantastic singer. She is out of India and I so had a blast dancing and being with this group on this very big wedding day of a good friends cousin. The POWER OF VOICE!

black-ofelia-stock.deviantart.com/ / intano-stock.deviantart.com my own resources “The Forgotten Daughter” / Made with my father in mind - / not many people know this about me – but my dad is Latin music superstar Alberto Vazquez - someone who was not a part of my life growing up….in many ways, I feel his fame helped to keep us apart – or maybe I should say, how the fame affected him. / He is someone I will always keep the door open for – I feel much like this girl – on the outside looking in….with prayers, hoping he’ll change his heart before it’s too late. He has seen me – but never spoke with me face to face. It’s something I have struggled with my entire life. I recently learned that he is expecting a baby with his new wife (or future wife).... / I wish them all the very best. You can listen to his beautiful voice here: / http://alberto-vazquez.com / or / youtube his name… ;-)
Cycling on the roads through the villages of Vietnam, this little one wouldn’t take her eyes from us. Unlike many of the kids in Vietnam who waved and shouted with enthusiasm, her quiet curiosity of the white people on bikes was beautiful. You might also like “Looking forward” /
Here is a re-worked image of my little girl and my husband which was on RB a while ago.. I keep coming back to it so finally decided to play with it and here it is… I originally had this image in colour but got some great advice from a fellow bubbler to try it in b&w so I did…... This image was taken when my little girl fell over on the rocks and hurt her knees and her daddy gave her a piggy back to the car before the storm came.
