An old wattle and daub cottage just outside Sedan, South Australia. The rain clouds were gathering quickly so only had time for a couple of shots before the storm set in. I was lucky to catch this one.
This is a section of wattle and daub walling from Cooma Cottage just outside Yass.
A damaged rich-blue wall showing the underlying wattle structure – part of an old house in the open air museum in Gelderland (Netherlands).

An example of the various methods used to create residences in the early days of settlement in the Flinders Ranges in South Australia… the layering of mud over old timber tree trunks used to make a weatherproof wall.
A compilation of materials and texture from various finds in the Flinders Ranges in South Australia.
A composition of contrasting colour and material… A stone wall of a ruin in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia, a capture of the waves just off the shore at Stansbury on Yorke Peninsula, also in South Australia and a shot of the walls of a “Wattle and Daub” ruin in the Flinders Ranges. Hope you find the variation of colours and textures interesting.

This is a Mud Dauber Hornet nest. I noticed it three years ago on a rock on our property and was fascinated with it. The actual size is about 3” X 1.5”, it is very hard and stands up under inclement weather. I check it out every Spring just to see if something has moved in:-) Panasonic DMC-TZ5.

In the making of this piece, I was merely trying to do a reverse image on the buildings on the left. Again, I hate to just let it at that, so I added some textures and did an invert for the sky. But then something magical happened. I was trying something with a layer and thought I would lasso some of the parts and cut, but it didn’t take enough and I thought it was a mess. But then I realized how much it looked like a style of design called De-constructivism. I remember this from several semesters in Scottsdale community collage. I was studying Interior Design and I LOVED it. Don’t ask why it went by the way side. Who knows. / I also layered in a street scene that showed a view of the Bay bridge in San Francisco. / I love how it all came out. I may still have a bit to do here, but for now…... / I hope you enjoy my take on De-constructivism. /
