/ This is the print version of my work Original 5” x 18” Acrylic on glass This is the first piece in my series “Journey Through Africa”, the other three include a African tree in a field, a Red Bishop bird and a Poison dart frog. This piece is of one of my favorite African animals a giraffe. It’s colors and shape really attracted me to it in creating this work. / This piece like the other three in the series was also painted on an antique mirror. I take something old and forgotten and create something new, yet try to keep the aged or classic feel throughout the piece. / I really love the scroll work of these interesting mirrors teamed with an African theme. Usually just looking at a prospective mirror I see what I will paint next in it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did in creating it! / I am currently working on another new piece in this series… / / / Some Originals Are AVAILABLE, If Interested Please Inquire You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /

Acrylic on Canvas / 46cm x 36cm Original for sale – POA I am extremely fortunate to live on a huge, lush estate (in a modest little cottage). Each time I paint outside, I find the incredible greens around me are coming into my painting. With this painting (part of a series), I decided to completely go with it.

Most of the former industrial warehouses bordering the River Dart at Totnes have now been remodelled as luxury riverside apartments, good to see them have a new lease of life and I believe it keeps much of the character of the old town. An early morning image of some of them reflecting on the still water of the river at high tide.
I went over to my former home town of Totnes in South Devon UK.,this morning having checked that high tide was at 09,56 and all was still with the River Dart like a mirror and beautiful lateral warm light. A similar scene to my earlier Reflections of the Past image that was taken with my trusty old Nikon D100. Still getting accustomed to all the features on my recently purchased Nikon D300 but was more than pleased with the results of the images I took this morning, this one having little editing, just a slight perspective crop and a little sharpening. Nikon D300 / 18 – 70 @ 29mm / AP F16 for 1/13sec / CP Filter
The last mile or so of the mighty River Dart in Devon UK., taken a couple of weeks ago from an elevated viewpoint some 250 feet above the river at the ancient historic port of Dartmouth. As you look towards the estuary as the river narrows the ancient fortified Kingswear and Dartmouth castles sit each side of the river, still armed with the cannon that protected the port back in Elizabethan times during the war against the Spanish. Not sure how much of the detail you can appreciate at this viewing resolution but I was amazed at the detail in that patchwork of farming fields more than a mile away when viewed full size. Nikon D300 / 18 -70 zoom at 31mm / CP and G1 Grad filters / AP F11 1/40sec<br />Manual WB Sunshine
The old millpond at the village of Stoke Gabriel cascades into the adjoining River Dart in Devon. I had been walking up the river bank on a beautiful day in April and sat down at the end of the dam with the dappled sunlight playing through the overhead trees. I got to thinking how nicely the branches framed the skyline on the village with it’s ancient 15th century parish church on the skyline, so decided to take a few images. Nikon D100 / 18 -70 zoom @ 22mm / AP F13 for 1/40sec / CP Filter
Time to try something different and I’d appreciate your honest feedback on this one please. Two highly reflective images taken in the portrait format, slightly cropped and reduced in size to fit on a black mask, total image size is 4500×3000. I took both of these images within minutes of one another from each side of the old bridge over the River Dart in my former home town Totnes, Devon. The PAST image is of the former warehouses and church converted to luxury riverside apartments, the PRESENT being a new block of colourful riverside houses recently built on the site of a former garage business. Nikon D300 / PAST – / F16 for 1/13sec / 25mm / PRESENT- / F16 for 1/20sec / 18mm / CP Filter
A toy car I discovered at a friends farm, I thought an older style edit would suit this image.

The perfect t-shirt for a few bevvies in the pub.
Taken while we were pasing through Dartmouth in South Devon (UK) on our way to Brixham. Litterally stopped to take this shot and then went on out way. We actually went to pick up my new Tamron 11-18 lens. Sony A700 / f/8 / 1/640 sec exposure / ISO 200 / 35mm focal length / ND Grad 0.9 Featured in Smuglers Havens
Totnes (pronounced /ˈtɒtnɨs/ or /tɒtˈnɛs/) is a market town at the head of the estuary of the River Dart in Devon, England within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is about 22 miles (35 km) south of the city of Exeter and is the administrative centre of the South Hams District Council. Totnes has a long recorded history, dating back to 907AD when its first castle was built; it was already an important market town by the 12th century. Indications of its former wealth and importance are given by the number of merchants’ houses built in the 16th and 17th centuries. /
