Although I love my digital slr and what it allows me to produce in the time i have (in other words it suits my lifestyle) I sometimes like to escape to my friend and mentor David’s darkroom. I love the peacefulness it brings and just watching my image float into being. I would like to thank David for his guidance and showing me how to achieve the dark tones that I craved for years for.

A dedication; to the multitalented and super sexy vixen Jacqueline Gwynne AKA heroine. This portrait was shot using a pentax K1000 and lLford black and white film and printed in the dark room the conventional way using high contrast filters and techniques such as dodging and burning.

It was an old mirror, and silvered, and very tired. It was determined to cast no more reflections.

Now for something a little bit different. This was part of my course at university – studio photography. This was taken with a Hasselblad 501cm medium format camera – with a flashring – developed in darkroom and scanned from the original print (my negs are still with lecturer).
