  • I spend my hours in darkness, / Obscured by the shadows… / And, it feels like time has stopped. No tick, tick, ticking. No tock, tock, tocking. Only waiting. Incessant waiting. Infernal waiting. Waiting. I count the seconds in heartbeats…how many have gone by? / So many. Too many. Yet, my heartbeat keeps on. How does a broken heart keep on beating when a watch will not keep ticking if it has suffered the same fate? It’s not fair. But, fairness has nothing to do with time. I spend my hours in darkness – / My life in the shadows – / And it feels like it never will stop! This is another dark one, I’m afraid. But, as my Jamie often says, my dark stuff – whether verse or image – has always been some of my best. I tend to agree with him. As I have remarked many times, and had an opportunity to say it again today, there is no beauty in pain. Pain is always ugly. However, there can be much beauty found in art inspired by pain. All my own photos and textures used for this manipulation.
