Listen to the song here There is a long story behind this photo. A time, when I think about it, brought a lot of sadness to me. Things past cannot be changed, but we can learn heaps from the experiences. Yes I lamented and I learned a great deal. Today there was a tragedy / Underneath the bridge / A man walked / Cold and blue / Into La Ment / The sky coloured perfect / As the man slipped away / Waving with a last vanilla smile / Somewhere at a table / Two drowned fools / Smoking / Drinking water as they talked / Of how they loved our lady / And oh the smell as candles die One more ice cream river body / Flowed underneath the bridge / Underneath the bridge The Cure

Here are my boys and hubby checking out the clouds before a storm.
This is a composite photo taken in Shalimar, FL near the edge of the bay. It was a glorious summer night. I applied the NIK skylight filter to deepen the reds in the picture. I also shot the sun on the same night to the west of the bank. I’ve combined them for a rich summer night shot. / /
Took this a couple of weeks ago of my little girl at the beach and realised it’s potential this morning when I started to play with the colour, light and layers so of course I though that I would share!

The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite and the fifth largest satellite in the Solar System. The average centre-to-centre distance from the Earth to the Moon is 384,403 kilometres (238,857 mi), about thirty times the diameter of the Earth. The common centre of mass of the system (the barycentre) is located at about 1,700 kilometres (1,100 mi)—a quarter the Earth’s radius—beneath the surface of the Earth. The Moon makes a complete orbit around the Earth every 27.3 days[nb 3] (the orbital period), and the periodic variations in the geometry of the Earth–Moon–Sun system are responsible for the phases of the Moon, which repeat every 29.5 days[nb 4] (the synodic period). / The Moon’s diameter is 3,474 kilometres (2,159 mi),[4] a little more than a quarter of that of the Earth. Thus, the Moon’s surface area is less than a tenth of the Earth (about a quarter of Earth’s land area, approximately as large as Russia, Canada, and the United States combined), and its volume is about 2 percent that of Earth. The pull of gravity at its surface is about 17 percent of that at the Earth’s surface. / The Moon is the only celestial body on which human beings have made a manned landing. While the Soviet Union’s Luna programme was the first to reach the Moon with unmanned spacecraft, the NASA Apollo program achieved the only manned missions to date, beginning with the first manned lunar mission by Apollo 8 in 1968, and six manned lunar landings between 1969 and 1972 – the first being Apollo 11 in 1969. Human exploration of the Moon temporarily ceased with the conclusion of the Apollo program, although a few robotic landers and orbiters have been sent to the Moon since that time. The U.S. has committed to return to the Moon by 2018. Image taken In Virginia with a Canon Digital Rebel XSI….and a 120mm 4.7inch refractor….and a 2x barlow lens…As Is / 296 views as of 12/26/09

My Website Thomas wrote a lovely poem for this image I created. Please go check out his work. / Thank you so much Tom !! :) Tracks of Life At times the tracks of our lives lead us on a path through the darkest reaches of our minds. / The mist covers the memories of moments we need to pass, let go of, move on from. / Our fears scream from the darkness, clawing at our souls, grabbing at our hearts. / If we pause we are lost. / The journey takes us through the darkness into a light filled with hope. / Rays of security fill us with warmth and / the strength to drive forward into a world bright with love Thomas Simunsen
