This door detail was photographed in Avanos, a small town in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. The bright colors and old wood of houses and doors in these small towns are often beautiful and always intriguing. The splintered wood, tooled brass lock and handle, and encroaching shadow give this piece a sense of mystery for me.

It looks like a normal negative of a pic, but its NOT!! Colours werent flipped. Or flopped. The original is like red-yellow-orange in colour. Shadows and lit areas were not flopped either. / Omg! Let me tell you! / I found some old charcoal eye shadows, and thought …why not apply it on half of my face. lol Wierd ideas i get… / So yah…..then i sat near my bed-side lamp, which was in a good mood today, and produced some nice light effects. / I got a whole bunch of these. Some are scaringly ODD! And some freaked me out!!! Dont know why…. I just look odd. Maybe i am odd…? Slightly. / Am never doing this sort of make up again. :D end of story! / This one is processed. in 2 colours. cant decide which one is better.

My poor mother would have a fit if she was still able to read this. I used to drive her nuts in my puberty… I think she sometimes thought I would do something to myself. But writing has always been a venting place for me, I even write the most dark thoughts when I’m actually very happy. But not with this one, this one was written with tears on my face and a big sigh of relief when I put down my pen and finally let go…
