This is the only building that remains of the original Mudlavia Springs Hotel complex, originally built in 1898. The original Victorian building-once a playground of the rich and famous of the world-burned down in 1920, as did two subsequent business ventures on the same site.

This is another lightning photograph taken in the Garden of the Gods, Colorado. The lightning storm was approaching from the south. It was spectacular and I had a blast shooting over 600 pictures just to try to capture 2 greats shots. The lightning itself was so tiny (less than a pixel) in the back of the camera display that it wouldn’t even show up. I was depressed because I thought I wasn’t getting anything. To my surprise, after I downloaded the images into Bridge and previewed them, I was able to see the lightning. I was sitting in the Denver airport as I downloaded the images when I started to see my pictures. The people around me thought I was a nut job because I was getting so excited.
