  • The city can be a dark and lonely place for some, I thank my lucky stars that I’m not one… This concept came to me one morning just after waking up. This is when most of my ideas and imagery come to me. I’ve worn back the edges to further skew the image.

  • Sanctuary – Middle English, from Old French sainctuarie, from Late Latin s?nctu?rium, from Latin s?nctus, sacred, sanctify. Sacred place, especially the most sacred part of a sacred place. In ancient times and in the Middle Ages, a sanctuary served as asylum, a place of refuge for persons fleeing from violence or from the penalties of the law. To injure a person in sanctuary or to remove him from it forcibly was considered sacrilege. In Egypt the temples of Osiris and Amon offered the right of sanctuary. Under the Greeks all temples enjoyed this privilege, and certain ones, like the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, were known throughout the Mediterranean world as a haven for fugitives. In Rome fugitive slaves often sought sanctuary. Christian churches were given the right of sanctuary by Constantine I. Abuses of sanctuary, tending to encourage crime, led to its curtailment and abolition. Modern penal codes no longer recognize the right of sanctuary.

  • A shot of someone’s backyard through a gap in the fence in a Newtown laneway merged in Ultimate FX using the Arithmetic function with a picture of cracked concrete and then re-merged with itself after using Advanced Liquid and Blur and repeated adjustments in contrast and brightness. I think this shows that with two fairly unpromising pictures, something wonderful can emerge. • The Choice / Love should never be a choice. While man attempts to recreate his universe through science, emulating God, or the First creation; at the core, each of us struggles with daily choices that seem to eclipse the math and science pulsing through a network of logic. Are choices of the heart logical or divinely inspired, impetuous or practical, or do these rather define constraints of the mind? Should the heart always win over the thought process, or does one inform the other? By our divine nature, women have a choice, to follow our heart, head, will, or spirit. Wrong or right, we exercise it. I’m listening… listening to the dreams. Digital Fine Art, influenced by the Romantic and Arts and Crafts styles. F.A. Moore, June 17, 2009. Features 2009-09-23 The Choice in The Divine Feminine Suggestions: great notecard to a lover At some point, I will paint this; and the description will be separated from the piece. It would please me, then, if when men viewed this, they though the “Choice” was theirs! Wouldn’t this be typical of human nature and especially (saying this from the woman’s perspective) typical of men. / But for now, the description stays, definitive as it is, of my thoroughly female viewpoint.
