Following on from Wrath is ‘Lust the Sin’ in the Sin series. This is the censored version as i was unsure as to the parameters of Redbubble’s ‘inappropriate content’ policy, im still not sure if this version should be deemed ‘appropriate’ but it’s part of the series so hopefully im safe! Medium: Indian ink and gray wash.

This is an underground creek underneath the Napier Ranges in the Western Kimberley. It is famous for being the hideout for Jandamarra (Pigeon), the leader of a group of Aborigines who in the late 1800’s where resisting the invasion of their land. They captured stock and were involved in sieges killing white settlers. This cave (hardly visible from the surrounding range) is said to have been his ideout for a number or years. He was killed in a police raid in 1897. The tunnel itself in 750 metres long and is collapsed in the middle letting in natural light. You can walk from one end to the other but get wet feet!

When photography refers to “capturing a moment” its images like this they are referring to. Taken in the Fall of 2005 at Arches National Park in Moab Utah. / While visiting the park with a friend we came to the Windows formation to get a look when a storn quickly came upon us. As we ran back to the car I caught this cloud formation swooping down over the Turret Arch I quickly lifted the camera and snapped one picture then continued to run. / I was amazed by the clouds afterwards when processing this image and found myself a lucky find of a magical moment.

The picture was taken using a Powershot G9 on manual setting. The lighting was done using 8 low energy Daylight bulbs in photographic reflectors shot against a black backdrop. Image was adjusted in painter 9 to give the extra contrast. She was a little self conscious and distracted at the beginning of the shoot. I don’t think the small crowd she brought with her helped really. It included her ex-lesbian girlfriend, her 6 year old daughter, and some guy. This shot was taken while she just relaxed and adjusted her skirt. In the end I got a good few shots that worked really well. This is one of the best. Labyrinths have always had a magical and slightly daunting effect on me. Possibly influenced by the David Bowie / Jennifer Connelly 80s movie. Walking around in the walls of a labyrinth, you have lost all your friends, but can still hear them in the distance, somewhere. Not sure where you are or where you are going, you stumble across an open area, an old forest. You see a makeshift burrow, made out of old stones, looks like it’s been there for hundreds of years. As you get closer, you hear soft whimpering coming from within. As you get to the old wooden door, you can clearly hear a child crying inside. That’s when you hear the growling behind you… Taken in Prague, along an old overgrown path, on the way to the hill that overlooks the whole city. I clearly remember looking at this and having a small shiver.
