I was not going to leave the zoo without this image. The beautiful bird, I first saw the outlines of through the man planted flora, gracefully glided across the artificial pond. Its motion cut a gentle trail in the small, evening breeze caused ripples. I set an ambush at the narrow part of the pond and waited patiently. No good. The introverted animal was too edgy when passing by, and emerged in and out of the dark shadows at unpredictable intervals. This was going to be a long haul. Luckily, with the ambient light we both needed running out quickly, my desire to capture the elegant curves of this creature and its routine craving to nibble a bit before the day expired reached an uneasy, but welcomed equilibrium. I held my breath and pushed the button with my cold stiffened finger. Timeless beauty. This is not a great story, just a blurb, with a moral that outweighs its size. The ever relevant message to those who take away your freedom is to realize they will never be able to deprive you of your Dignity, your Grace.

“Marbled Sky“ I found this scene on the way home from a photo shoot with my sister, Manikah. We had visited Beaver Town to shoot the Arkansas Golden Gate Bridge. Beaver Town is a quaint nostalgic community just outside of Holiday Island, near Eureka Spring, Arkansas. Of course, on the way home we took every dirt road we could find! ...lol When we were crossing a low-water bridge, I happened to glance down I saw this “marbled sky”! My eyes are always searching for the art in nature :)

The artwork I liked best contained glass orbs floating on a still surface. I always thought they were so enigmatic… ...Stock Credits… / Background / Stock copyrights remain the property of their respective owners.
This is not your “usual” shot of the S.F. city skyline and Bay Bridge that you are used to seeing… those are shot from overhead. There are reasons this view is not seen all over the place… To get to this location, there are a lot of obstacles to overcome. Sheer drops with nothing but rocks and ocean below abound, jagged metal from construction jut up from the ground when you least expect, and the keep out signs from the government didn’t help to settle my nerves any either. For that last reason you don’t want to use your flashlight as you head down the slopes for fear of the coast guard seeing you. That makes the afore mentioned problems magnified. So… all that said, it was a calm beautiful night on the bay and once I reached this area, I found this sight so breathtaking that it took me easily five minutes before I remembered why I came to the spot. What is it like to leave, to go away not come back. I probably think about it way too much, I used to want to go so badly, more for the sake of it than anything else. Right now though, I have reason to stick around. / I touched a leaver on this morning, the feeling didn’t linger the way it did the other day, It was cold, I expected the warmth like i am used to, the feeling of acceptance of my touch being absorbed into the skin. At least he had his hat with him as he was on his way, its alright, it meant something to us to see it go with him, the smiles formed beneath the tears dispersing them at least for a little while. / One foot in front of the other we carried an empty box a moment after the last glances of the dust trails left behind. / Where did you go? i can only wonder, you say you’ll be there on that day you spoke, but will you really? or is it just a pleasant thought that can be believed to be true, I’ll smile for you. / / .
