A labour of love and frustration as much as it was of darkness and light. I was given this lovely fairy and dragon figurine last year for my birthday. Well, being into photo manipulation now (and loving fantasy and myth as I do), I decided to be the face of the dark fairy. I took a picture of the figurine and then spent hours trying to find the right photo of my face to extract, tweak, and blend into the photo. I used a picture I had taken of an afternoon sky and fiddled around with it (technical term) to give me the smoky, cloudy effect. I used the “painting with light” technique to give the light effect. Whew! Look at me now! I have wings…and little baby dragons!
