  • My first effort at doing the ‘poem as image’ thing :) The poem is here on RedBubble. This poem is about my inspiration for creative writing, my muse. She comes to me by night. The demands of the day keep us apart, and I miss her…

  • Completed in ps whilst on the verge of falling asleep / my darlin girl has had me up past dawn nightly for awhile / she’s going thru a phase of bein an insomniac like her mother… All work (including images, and writings) copyright dimarie painter / / Click here for work details and credits if any apply… / Click on any category above for that genre… or / Click here to go back to my profile page ... thanx :)

  • As I awoke one dreary day I looked around to my dismay / The sun was hiding beneath the clouds / The wind howled ceaselessly / It looked to be another day to simply meld into the next / The cold wind chilled my bones and left frost upon my dress / But somethin else was in the air / a vibe I could not place / Somethin was enticing me without words or smell or taste / So out we went into the world to seek what we could find / And halfway thru our journey we gasped in our delight / For all around us we were blessed, as far as the eye could see / Butterfliez in all their magick / dancing in the breeze… All work (including images, and writings) copyright dimarie painter / / Click here for work details and credits if any apply… / Click on any category above for that genre… or / Click here to go back to my profile page ... thanx :)

  • I dreamt of you before we met / I willed you with all my heart / to seek me out from the cold and wet / and shelter me from the dark / It took so long to find you / and Life, she took her toll / and the pure heart that was meant for you / was wounded to the soul / But Life she had not spared you a fall / before we met you’d suffered it all / And so there we were, each in this world alone / destined to meet and create a home / destined to learn to love once more / but more truly and deeply and with all of our souls / Over the years you have healed my heart / more than you ever will know / you may roll your eyes at my affection / but I know it does strike home / I see the way you look at me / when you think my mind’s elsewhere / I see the smile dancing in your eyes / when you forget yourself and stare / I hear the purring escape your lips / when you embrace me close / when we kiss / I know your heart / I know you / We were meant to be I know its true / So nevermind the roses, and chocolates and all that jazz / material possessions come and go / Its our love that always lasts / You have given me the greatest gift anybodies known / You have fathered me our daughter and created for us / a safe happy Home… thankyou for taking the time to view my art and (hopefully) comment… / please have a look at my other artwork… / hope you enjoy! :) /

  • Original Creation Date: April 17, 2006 / Charcoal on paper, 14” x 20”, freehand. / Original sold at the Skeleton Key art auction, San Francisco CA. There’s a story behind this piece, from the title to the poem. / The poem is written by Damien Echols who currently resides on Arkansas death row for a crime he did not commit nearly thirteen years ago. I’m fortunate enough to have been granted permission by Damien to use his poetry in my work. The poem reads as follows: Her eyes are chained angels, / Glittering and unconscious / Of the growing distance between us. Her lips move, / Issuing a murmur / Like voices from a depth / That aren’t quite loud enough to hear. Against the winter sky / A murder of crows / Wheels and turns Learn more at www.wm3.org

  • Original Creation Date: April 23rd, 2006 Okay, part deux. This is a follow-up to Estranged. I purposefully tried to keep the style similar and tied it in with the poetry, which is by Damien Echols. (www.wm3.org) I watched as / the closet door / slid open, / slowly, / and out crept / a spindly man-thing / to dance in silent circles / next to my bed. Original was auctioned off at Skeleton Key in San Francisco. / Model: Aaron Gilmore / Photographer: Tessa Beebe / Charcoal on 90 lb. paper (Canson), freehand, 14” x 20” P.S. I friggin’ LOVE this one. Auction or not, I weep for the original.

  • I took this photograph in a botanical garden when the sun was setting. I was in awe of these stunning colors, The dark silhouettes of the trees / created a dramatic contrast of color, texture reflecting the beauty and power of nature’s rich palette. I was in awe of the changing palette of colors that lit up the sky before a rain storm. Nature has a lot to teach us / about life. • I sit alone… / I sit & wait…. I need to remain calm…. / I know that somebody can hear me… I know that I’m not the only one… I know that there is more than one side… / I know that there is more than just my side… / I know that I’m not wrong… This world is not just black & white… I will come out of my shelter… / I will not hide forever… / but for now I need my time… I will show my face again… My thoughts are not just black & white…

  • The Poet.. Diligently writing and contemplating on his internal thoughts until they reach his heart and soul. Eventually, his thoughts begin to reach the paper for everyone to see..

  • She had lost the imperative / to wish for traditional love, / with all its accoutrements – / marriage, children, / a leaky roof above / She had passed through / the chemical burn / of failed romance / and was now scarred, / disfigured, / too crippled to dance – / or so She said / But He could see / through the lie / And His eyes / as they traversed Her body / saw the way in / saw the tiny, minute scars / just under the skin / She was like an ancient canvas / of marble / Her milky surface / smooth and impeccable / with blue veins / and raised flesh / just visible / under the surface / He traced the veins / With firm fingertips / Licked the scars / Followed with a kiss / which carried with it / tragedy and entropy / birth and death / and as He entered Her / with a single breath / He moved worlds / within Her / and She rose / like a phoenix / opened like a lotus, / like a tomb / birthing beauty / like vines / from Her womb

  • can you / tell / by the way / i don’t look at you / what i want / to do can you tell me / why / i love to ride / on this razor’s edge / of desire why i love / the dark in you / just as much as the light and tell me / why this duality / calls so strongly / and why everything / with you / is black and white yin and yang does it add / to the tang / of your lips / as we kiss? / intensify the / sibilant hiss / of your breath / on my ear / hovering on the edge / of those words / i long for / and fear? and tell me why / with you / there are no / shades of gray / only the / emptiness / of this / lonely bliss…

slipping into dream / we go to the dark gods

    Written 29 July 2009.

  • First verse of a poem by Paul Dunbar. “Tis an old deserted homestead, / On the outskirts of town, / Where the roof is all moss-covered, / And the walls are tumbling down; / But around that little cottage / Do my brightest mem’ries cling, / For ‘twas there I spent the moments / Of my youth,—life’s happy spring” A desaturated of the old Davis Homestead, Pokapu, Kawakawa. • song of silent protest
    by Elucidate

too long have i let silence into my heart / too long has it dwelt in its dark and narrow house

i think most people will be able to relate to this, each in their own and personal way. / too often we let silence into our hearts, when we should be letting our voice free. / too often we hide our own light, so that the light of others may shine brighter, not considering our own loss. we all have talents. we all have voices. / now we must take that step forward into the light, and show the world that we all have a voice. / 27 august 2009.

  • When I see you again / Will you take my hands and smile? / I’ll take yours then / Even if they’re pressed tightly to your sides / And we’ll not recall a single thing / That ripped my soul in two For I know you suffered too. There’ll be no tears, nor mention / Of thoughts that drain away my breath / No talk of crushing things I hide away / And steal my vision of this life’s bright light / That lifts most beings to a higher plane For I know you could not see. There will be no memory, nor knowledge / Of a single moment that burned these eyes / Just comfort, warmth, and trust is all I’ll feel / Kindness passing ever more – soul to soul / A gentle kiss, soft eyes that care / A heart, a hug that will hold me close. For I know you could not feel. copyright K.T. / Digital Composite Artwork in CS4 /

  • I wait by the sea / we’ve never met / but our souls have been entwined / for centuries long / Your spirit spins through my heart / and through my core / like a cleansing rain / that fills the crevices left by time / Like music, you breath deep into me / sweeping away the bruises of life / with your love / I feel you when I close my eyes / and listen to the sound / that makes my heart sing yet yearn / for your presence / upon, within, around me / We may never meet / but I know you’re there / in this life / ....or another I wrote the poem first, but felt the need for an image to go with it, so here it is – this is a reworked version of Voyager Dreaming.
