  • drawn/sketched pencil / color and texture Photoshop CS a tale of my recent experience with mysterious, chronic pain that the doctors / cannot explain…...one can only wonder and be left to the horrors of the imagination. i want my life back. :(

  • This is actually the oldest piece I’ve posted in here. I did this back when I was a freshmen in college nearly ten years ago. Wow, was it really that long ago? Seriously? Holy crap, I’m getting old. Anyway, this thing was absolutely huge and I went though a a WHOLE LOTTA’ pencils while drawing it.

  • As a once psychology major, I was intrigued by Freud’s theory on the id and ego of the human psyche. It has been many years since those classes so my words may be somewhat off. But this piece is a self representation (aren’t they all?) of myself and how the “id” and “ego” play in our life decisions. We all seek pleasure and that constant feeling of euphoria, and our “id”’s only goal is to achieve those feelings without worry or care about the consequences of such actions. It is our “ego” that keeps the “id” in line, allowing us to think before we act, and to be able to foresee what may come of this pleasure seeking. It is a constant battle that wages on beneath our skin and sometimes the “id” overcomes. Some choose to live only by the “id”s bidding and never realize the destruction they leave behind when seeking their pleasures. I have been through that lifestyle once, and as much as I enjoyed such pleasures in bountiful amounts….the aftershock of those actions can still be felt today.

  • This piece is based on how much we base our decisions off of love. Not condemning it, but rather it intrigues me what those will do in the name of love. Many people have died for love, have fought for love, and have sacrificed for love. It’s a powerful feeling that enslaves us, causing us to react in ways we may not deem normal in a clear state of mind, but like they say, Love is intoxicating. 2nd traditional piece I’ve ever attempted with acrylics. It was (key word, was, because it was sold lol)a 18×24 inch stretched canvas with acrylics and india ink. I miss this piece dearly, but at least I have a wonderful jpeg of it’s remains.

  • face in the darkness 2b mechanical pencil, kneadable eraser and 6b Graphite – and a paper stump – oh yeah, and a tissue (first time I’ve blended with a paper towell – cool stuff)

  • Inspired by an old ink print I saw in a book when I was a Child. / The print I remember had this big spooky figure of a man looming in the doorway and had this wicked dark atmosphere to it. / I dont think my version really compared tho, as i only got to get a glimpse at the book (it was in an old op shop and i didnt have any money ever as a child,) so, I had to go by memory, and with not wanting to copy theirs, I came up with this instead :) / Originally drawn in 1992, then redrawn back in 1997. / this is the redone version of 97. / -which is why there is a tea stain and the paper is rumpled :) / ...but i like to think it adds to the overall effect :) / Drawn on normal printing paper, just old and rumpled and torn and sunbleached like crazy :) All work (including images, and writings) copyright dimarie painter / / Click here for work details and credits if any apply… / Click on any category above for that genre… or / Click here to go back to my profile page ... thanx :)

She is on the opposite wall from The Witness / I don’t really know what she has to say either, but I think it’s something about the acceptance of the mysterious cycles of life. Whatever it may be, she has a calming influence on me. As a round image, she doesn’t lend well to greeting cards full sized so I have a cropped version / that does within my portfolio: / But here in full: / ALSO available in my Clothing as a T: /

  • pencil on paper (arches) drawing ORIGINAL SOLD Here is a shot of it where it took honors at an exhibition along with its sister/brother, Messenger (in sweet memory of Isabella Grace Torroll who was being breastfed by her caring mother, Beth Rose, while I was doing a lot of this drawing) Since this is a round image, it doesn’t lend itself easily to some of the products. Please pop over here / for a cropped version of this image that will. IF interested in a T-shirt, please visit my Clothing section: / /

  • pencil on paper (unknown) drawing I believe this might be about power. / I wish I had written down the paper that I used because I’ve never worked so effortlessly before or after. (sigh) This drawing won a spot in the New York Society of Illustrators exhibition “Dreams” a few years ago and hung in their permanent museum. The Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators maintains a large collection of original illustrations. Amassed over several decades, the collection is comprised of well over two thousand works by many of the biggest names in the field of Illustration. These works are on display throughout the public and member spaces in the Society’s circa 1853 carriage house on East 63rd Street in New York City. • This is a piece that I did for the / THE DIVINE FEMININE / Warriors, Demons, and Whores Challenge. She is – Morgan (Morrigan): Celtic; Goddess of War and Magic. In some ancient stories “The Dark Green Goddess from the Emerald Isle” is mated with the Merlin,
in others she is the Lady of the Lake, and in many versions she is the sister of Arthur. Morgan has her good side but is mostly known for her deep dark shadow side. She was said to be a shape-changer who could turn from ravishing beauty to hag, to crow. She reportedly also knew how to utilize the full spectrum of Earths Energy for good or bad. I was inspired by the artwork here on RedBubble of: AlexandraG, AmandaGWright, artistmind, Reynaldo and more to be loose and expressive with my line work and color. With this piece I think that I made that next step. 10×8 IN. Ink, Pencil, and Chalk Pastel on Watercolor paper.

  • mixed media on paper Original SOLD, but cards, canvas, prints, matted frames are still all available on redbubble. Thank you! :-) myspace.com/artistmind

  • It’s a default state of mine. / I stare. / I know – it’s not safe – especially when driving at 70 miles per hour. / It’s also not polite. Others don’t like being the stare-ee. / It’s also not good for contact lense wearers. I really need to blink more to maintain comfort. / But given my natural inclinations, I would stare all day. I lapse. Lapse is made from four different pencil drawings of mine. The base drawing is The Wait / The eyes come from Trespassed / The roses come from Rose / The tattoo comes from One / The weirdness comes from Me. The Wait / Trespassed / Rose / One / >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Some examples of “Lapse” /
