STALKING TIGER Slowly through the grass / The tiger stalked his prey / His movement long and languid / In the middle of the day / The sun was high and bright / As a vivid burning orb / His body moving slowly / Less heat there to absorb / Gazelles were moving fitfully / Around the waterhole / Nervous eyes were flitting wildly / As the world they did behold / A movement in the distance / And the animals did jump / The nerve ends all a jangling / Each one with quivering rump / Then like avenging angels / The tiger now does pounce / Gazelles are scattering wildly / With a death like spinning dance / And one of them is slower / No longer held at bay / The tiger now triumphant / As it finishes its prey Phil Sanders (aka Brummieboy) / 5/4/07 Thanks for the wonderful poem Phil!

The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. This is a composite photo taken in Shalimar, FL near the edge of the bay. It was a glorious summer night. I applied the NIK skylight filter to deepen the reds in the picture. I also shot the sun on the same night to the west of the bank. I’ve combined them for a rich summer night shot. / /

Took this a couple of weeks ago of my little girl at the beach and realised it’s potential this morning when I started to play with the colour, light and layers so of course I though that I would share!

yup i know I haven’t uploaded anything “serious” for a while, so here comes a new work in progress. have to do some minor change before the final version, but so far I’m quite satisfied with what I got (or should I be worried about its being too “orange”?!). comments are much appreciated. ;) Update: / / Finally i set up a shop to sell my own prints! in my shop you can get signed, limited edition of prints, by limited I mean, well, really limited! :)

Again, with the eyes. the original face was split in two and both of the same sides were melded back together, tweaked the expression to knock out too much symmetry and voila. Made it to the Featured page! Twice! (2nd time on August 18, 2008) / Featured in the Fine Art Composites group on January 9, 2009.

18×24 acrylic on canvas I painted this one for The Divine Feminine’s challenge “Loving Ladies”. This is my favorite goddess of Love, Lakshmi. This is not your traditional painting of Lakshmi, for instance, I didn’t give her 4 arms. But I think it captures her beauty and femininity. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty and wealth. She is kind of like the goddess of the law of attraction. In truth, Lakshmi teaches us to accept our beauty and to find true happiness in the realization of the abundance of our soul. I shot this one after my return from Tasmania, and while I was shooting it, it reminded me of the sunset on the Tasman Peninsula. So I’ll post them both on the same day.. It’s Tasmania v Noosa… :) I know it’s not really an even playing field with the pelican there, but I did wait 10-15 mins in the Tassy area, and not one bird flew by. Lake Doonella, Noosaville, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm. Available large and best viewed Large!!
