This was taken off the last full moon, right after the eclipse.
The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. In modern English, the term ghost ship has come to stand for at least one of three separate definitions, all of which involving unexplained circumstances. Historically, the term has been used to refer to reported sightings of apparitions over water that have appeared in the form of maritime sailing ships, often after having previously been known to have sunk, or to derelict vessels found floating with no crew. In fiction, ghost ships have often been vessels crewed by some manner of spectral beings. Full Moons are traditionally associated with temporal insomnia, insanity and various magical phenomena such as lycanthropy. Psychologists, however, have found that there is no strong evidence for effects on human behavior around the time of a full moon. They find that studies are generally not consistent, with some showing a positive effect and others showing a negative effect (hence the terms lunacy and lunatic) Many neopagans hold a monthly ritual called an Esbat at each full moon, while some people practicing traditional Chinese religions prepare their ritual offerings to their ancestors and deities on every full and new moon

According to some Native traditions, the Elk symbolizes endurance or stamina. Bull Elk is a powerfully masculine spirit. The New Moon and Venus in this position are symbolic of the High Priestess in the Tarot deck. The most potent of feminine portents. They seem to me a perfect combination of male-female balance and harmony. / In my interpretation, the placement of Venus between (above, yet behind) the antlers of Standing Elk represents fertility. The Moon, in virtually all traditions is a representation of romantic love …. New Moon, a glowing bowl to hold the abundance of Creation. The marriage of Earth and Heaven. The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite and the fifth largest satellite in the Solar System. The average centre-to-centre distance from the Earth to the Moon is 384,403 kilometres (238,857 mi), about thirty times the diameter of the Earth. The common centre of mass of the system (the barycentre) is located at about 1,700 kilometres (1,100 mi)—a quarter the Earth’s radius—beneath the surface of the Earth. The Moon makes a complete orbit around the Earth every 27.3 days[nb 3] (the orbital period), and the periodic variations in the geometry of the Earth–Moon–Sun system are responsible for the phases of the Moon, which repeat every 29.5 days[nb 4] (the synodic period). / The Moon’s diameter is 3,474 kilometres (2,159 mi),[4] a little more than a quarter of that of the Earth. Thus, the Moon’s surface area is less than a tenth of the Earth (about a quarter of Earth’s land area, approximately as large as Russia, Canada, and the United States combined), and its volume is about 2 percent that of Earth. The pull of gravity at its surface is about 17 percent of that at the Earth’s surface. / The Moon is the only celestial body on which human beings have made a manned landing. While the Soviet Union’s Luna programme was the first to reach the Moon with unmanned spacecraft, the NASA Apollo program achieved the only manned missions to date, beginning with the first manned lunar mission by Apollo 8 in 1968, and six manned lunar landings between 1969 and 1972 – the first being Apollo 11 in 1969. Human exploration of the Moon temporarily ceased with the conclusion of the Apollo program, although a few robotic landers and orbiters have been sent to the Moon since that time. The U.S. has committed to return to the Moon by 2018. Image taken In Virginia with a Canon Digital Rebel XSI….and a 120mm 4.7inch refractor….and a 2x barlow lens…As Is

Dance to the End of Time / Dance to the End of Time #2 Another one from the archives that I didn’t get around to posting. I shot this 3 years ago in winter under a full moon at about midnight at Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains, Australia. This was my first shoot outside at night in winter. It was minus 5 degrees and when I got back home and my fingers started to thaw out I couldn’t believe the pain – Lesson 1 for winter night shots – wear mittens at the very least! / These trees were drowned along with a whole valley to create a man-made lake as part of a hydro scheme in the 1950s. They resurfaced as a result of a drought we’d been having for the last few years courtesy of global warming. Canon 30D / Tv: 30 secs / Av: f/3.5 / ISO: 800
I thought of our lovely Raven Soul here on RB when I was making this…I hope she doesn’t mind me borrowing her lovely nick for the title of this….and for the honor I’m dedicating it to her. It’s actually a pic of my daughter, Catriona. ;-) Just one for fun that I made for her id on a website she belongs to… Hugs, Claudia
