How long can you weep in silence? / Soon, the pain will be unbearable.. / If you’re not careful, you’d lose your mind.. / And maybe even, your life.. A Minor Collection of Unnatural History was a collection of 30 previously undiscovered monsters by Sayraphim Lothian and Benj Dawe. These are tiny little monsters who live in far away places, who devote their lives to prayer or religious devotion. The mind boggles about what gods monsters have. This image is a composite of straight photos created in Photoshop. Images of the exhibition itself can be found at www.omnificassembly.com.

I am fascinated with imagery that could come from the ancient or the sub-conscious or both. / An enigmatic piece that combines a portion of a photograph with an earlier image of mine, which in turn, is a combination of shapes and textures layered mainly in Lighten mode and merged with some more layered textures. The Distortion modes were used to get the shapes I wanted. Layering, I find, for this type of work is, obviously, vital and a wonderful facility. Software – Photoshop.
Alchemists, those Medieval, backroom, would-be scientists or, perhaps, they were scientists to a degree, trying combinations of this and that with the intention of, supposedly, turning lead into gold and numerous other experiments. Could this be one of them? Or someone else. / A photo merged with myriad layers of Photoshop-generated textures and shapes. Mainly in Lighten mode. Some distorting involved to fit the shapes to the face.
