As I awoke one dreary day I looked around to my dismay / The sun was hiding beneath the clouds / The wind howled ceaselessly / It looked to be another day to simply meld into the next / The cold wind chilled my bones and left frost upon my dress / But somethin else was in the air / a vibe I could not place / Somethin was enticing me without words or smell or taste / So out we went into the world to seek what we could find / And halfway thru our journey we gasped in our delight / For all around us we were blessed, as far as the eye could see / Butterfliez in all their magick / dancing in the breeze… All work (including images, and writings) copyright dimarie painter / / Click here for work details and credits if any apply… / Click on any category above for that genre… or / Click here to go back to my profile page ... thanx :)
What is it is about dragonflies that is so fascinating and magical… / i mean, i like butterflies, definitely, they’re obviously pretty and all, but dragonflies, well, i love… especially when they hover, little hyperactive observers, busy with mysterious urgent business… impossible to follow… unless they want to be… Model: fetish_faery / Other stock by resurgere and adaae (deviantart)

Out of ashes, new beginnings, / Out of fire comes new power, / Out of darkness, new day dawning, / Phoenix help me in this trying hour. / DJ Conway Beginning with Apophysis to make the flames and adding a photo of a tree stump that resembled a ‘phoenix’ to me, adding the words and voila…my interpretation of a phoenix rising from the ashes… / My name, Tammy, means palm tree and in Greek the word for phoenix is the same as for palm tree. Legend says that when the phoenix reached a thousand years old, it flew to a special place and built a funeral nest of sweet smalling woods and resins in a tall palm tree, when the nest was set ablaze by the force of the Sun, the phoenix stayed in the nest and was destroyed. After nine days, a new phoenix rose from the ashes. Phoenix Rising by Annihilator
On Zazzle / on DeviantART Strongly inspired by Kagerou ... all the flowy red and orange hair, and a bit of Van Gogh’s Starry Night as well, for the background. A fierce and free magechild, who commands the fire of the night and moves through their own imagination at will… / Basically, controls the realm of dreams. / (also, Kagerou is possibly maybe initially believed to be a crazy-dream-journey) ArtRage 2.5 and graphics tablet

Tilia, commonly called Linden or Lime is a family of trees that has many uses. One of the more peculiar being a treatment for headaches and hysteria. / Tilia ora is a species with a highly symbolic meaning in pre-Christian Germanic mythology. In German folklore, it is the “tree of lovers” and it is also believed that the tree would help unearth the truth. This image shows a detail. oil on canvas / 120×80 cm / original sold

“Double, double toil and trouble; / Fire burn, and caldron bubble. / Fillet of a fenny snake, / In the caldron boil and bake; / Eye of newt, and toe of frog, / Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, / Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting, / Lizard’s leg, and owlet’s wing,— / For a charm of powerful trouble, / Like a hell-broth boil and bubble / Double, double toil and trouble; / Fire burn, and caldron bubble” —MacBeth, William Shakespeare (1564-1616)

In the dark time, when you’re asleep, certain amazing horses are chosen to become unicorns! One wave of the unicorn fairies wand, and they’re an ordinary horse, no more! ______ / Created using my photo of this bay horse, and Photoshop Elements 7. I used a texture from an old rusty car, layered it over the horse, and erased the texture from the horse. I then used the “fairy” brush, to plunk a fairy onto his rear. I used a sparkle brush to give her a wand. I used the moon brush to plunk moon and stars into the sky. I then layered 50% grey and used a fill layer. I texturized this layer with canvas. After that, I used the big water color splat brush, to create some variations in the grey. I placed a dark blue layer over the entire picture, and erased the dark blue off the lighted areas of the horse. I also erased the dark blue off the fairy. I added more layers and placed different colored bushes onto the front of the photo. I went to the lighting effects palette, and created a light coming from the moon, to cover the horse and fairy. After that, I thought the fairy needed to glow a little more, so I used a lens flare on her. Ta-da! Finished! Original photo was taken south of Simms, Montana, with a Nikon D300, hand held, 70-300 mm lens. Featured in The Patchwork 09/09 Thank you!
O, Powerful Woman of Magic, / From another time, but not another place. / You walked these lands, / The Wind whispered its secrets to you… And, when it storms, you can still be felt. All my own photos and textures used to create this scene from another time but, as I’ve said above, not another place. And, it’s been Ortonized to give it a moody, dreamy, otherworldly feel. There is magic in this land of my adoptive country, and if you open yourself to it, you can still feel the power of ancient times. / / FEATURED in Textures Unlimited and About Time

I have traveled far and beyond all you know. / I have felt that which could not be felt. / I have seen that which is most hidden. / I have touched that which is forbidden. Few have seen what I seen. / Fewer still ever know. I have seen holes in the fabric of the Universe. / I have felt time frozen and all identity lost. / I knew not who am I, where or what am I, and yet I was. / I was a thought, a light, a spark, a vision. I was the Thing inside my vision. I was the very word that tried to describe it. I was lost and I have found myself. Words cannot describe it. / So I cannot. But I WAS THERE! I can swear it. / And yes, I can go there again. / Anytime! Soon…
Medium: Digital / Description: Inspired by the work of H R Giger and taking around 20 hours to complete, this digital painting was comprised of around 39 layers and took up 223mb of hard drive. It is also a forerunner to the project “Deck: The Wonderful Future.” This piece was originally created as an entry to a magazine cover contest, where you were given 10 stock photographs to use in the design. Out of all of the photos provided, only a small portion of one photo was used and this was a building, manipulated to form the background. / Completed in 2009.
