  • Photographic based digital montage, 2007 (no 2 from series of 3 re-worked). Shot two seperate models & combined them. Draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, body, dress, added fringe to face, made the features more angular, blew up lips, created cheekbones, reworked branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated & added a sepia tone. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers.

  • Acrylic on canvas. One of my favourite paintings. My mother had kept a horrible painting from school in the house and I couldn’t stand it.. so I painted over it. The canvas had quite a bit of texture paste already on it which made it a little difficult to paint over but it added something in the end. You can’t see it as much in this photo for printing purposes. The first photo I had up showed the texture extra severly, which made it look like pixelation.. so I tried it again. From a sad old man playing a guitar, to a young woman with a cello.. better off I’d say.. Reference

  • Self portrait.

  • This was my 3 year old daughters first time playing in the rain. It was so amazing to watch her delight . I think we can all relate to tilting our faces up towards the the sky, trying to catch the rain as it falls on our cheeks. FOR PAY IT FORWARD: “Nominated by- Danae Leach” / “what she wrote“ “This is one of my most faves. I love children so much and their innocence, pure happiness and complete faith in all things good and magical. I remember when I used to be little and I loved being out in the summer rains”

  • Dolly Broke / Dolly Broke is available as a framed print, canvas print, poster, laminated print and card. / Dolly Broke has been a popular seller as framed wall art print and as a card not only for a Nursery but for adults and the memories it evokes. The little doll in this picture is much like my first Christmas doll. / When I opened the box she had beautiful, long locks, a gorgeous dress but I was never a dolly girl and within an hour of being given her, I had chopped her hair off, ripped her clothes off and painted her / ....... Perhaps I was a little peeved not getting more paints and coloured pencils and books for Christmas. Dad never said anything….but I remember he was very quiet and she was the first and last doll I got for Christmas ..lol! • In my most recent series: ‘Face Navigation’ , I have used the fluidity of watercolour painting to express a personal perception of self and others. There is an awareness of the universal human condition through facial expression, and in some cases I create a progression of images, exploring the changing perception of a person by deconstructing facial recognition. As there is a shift over time in attitude or mood, there is a corresponding shift in visual interpretation. Sizes variable, average sizes 250×102 mm. Watercolour on rag paper. / / Web: www.littlemalopgallery.com.au For availability of original work please contact Robert Avitabile at: METROPOLIS GALLERY / 64 Ryrie Street / Geelong, Victoria, AUSTRALIA 3220 Telephone: +61 3 5221 6505 www.metropolisgallery.com.au

  • Fictional digital painting made with Photoshop. / Full view please Dear little doll series… / POLLY / EUGENIA / MUFFIE / VALERIE / TIFFANY Since this is my first attemp to paint digitaly I thought to share with you that I’m feelng a little weird … huh… correction: I’m feeling very weird. For accuracy, I feel like one of my characters – my eyes are wide open (out of anticipation for what will happen next); my brows draw together and my mouth is stretch horizontally (laughs). It’s like the fist time I did upload my first painting, excactly one year back. It’s a very big suprise to me. I’d never thought that I will ever paint digitally – really, it just came suddenly before 2 … I don’t quite remember exact maybe 3 nights. Anyway, I felt that I need a “break” from my beloved brushes, paints and canvases. The most imporant, I want to clear my mind a bit from the Halloween series calendar cause I’d hated to make something that it won’t be inspired and absolute authentic from me. So it may be ready far long after Halloween… laughs… maybe it will be ready in Christmas time xxx Back to that night ➪ Of course I ended up to make my office like a bombed place with charcoals, pastels… Water and ink running below my keyboard and on the floor… just imagine. / / The good from all this destruction is a little face I did, a totally scarp face but I did love it from the first moment ♥ (and it looks like me too :) So much that I couldn’t leave it in the mess that was! Here you can see it: / ☯ So concluding, all the dollies of this series are based in this little one scrap face, always in the same position but each one of them has a different personality. All the names of the dollies are names from existing famous dolls. Ok I will stop talking now, / I’m leaving you view my work and I really hope you like it.
