  • Ornamental Garden Rivington.

  • This was a beautiful place to be – when the children were there is became magical – every door opened wasn’t a garden it was the secret garden and we had to look for lepricorns and fairies and smell every flower and describe every tree.

  • Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower) with a dark twist. This was the first of my Dark Dreams flower series, most of which I have pulled from redbubble. It was also one of my first images here. Obviously it was photoshoped. I get a lot of questions about why there are scratches on it, it was to give it an old aged look. The texture would make it a great canidate for a canvas print… hint hint ;) This is the original: / I believe this is the largest image in my portfolio, and that is because it was taken with my old 35 mm SLR, then scanned in (I have a really good scanner that scans really big) If you are seeing this image in a group for the first time, that is because I just realized it wasn’t in any groups! I must have cleared it out to make room for newer stuff. This peice was my very first one chosen on the Featured Art page and was featured in Ebony and Ivory group. Thank you! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This piece can be found in my Flora Calendar. / For more products featuring this image, visit Karri’s Zazzle Store

  • I was not going to leave the zoo without this image. The beautiful bird, I first saw the outlines of through the man planted flora, gracefully glided across the artificial pond. Its motion cut a gentle trail in the small, evening breeze caused ripples. I set an ambush at the narrow part of the pond and waited patiently. No good. The introverted animal was too edgy when passing by, and emerged in and out of the dark shadows at unpredictable intervals. This was going to be a long haul. Luckily, with the ambient light we both needed running out quickly, my desire to capture the elegant curves of this creature and its routine craving to nibble a bit before the day expired reached an uneasy, but welcomed equilibrium. I held my breath and pushed the button with my cold stiffened finger. Timeless beauty. This is not a great story, just a blurb, with a moral that outweighs its size. The ever relevant message to those who take away your freedom is to realize they will never be able to deprive you of your Dignity, your Grace.

  • This is the bridge that crosses the Myall River from Teagardens to Hawks Nest. / It was taken on the way home from a good meal to the B&B. As you can see the water was so still it mirrored the lights on the bridge. It is as it was taken by our point & shoot camera, a Sony Cybershot 4.1 at maximum zoom and without a flash. / Viewed by more than 50 visitors and my most favourited work. Thanks to the hosts of 50 things for featuring this work. Their encouragement much appreciated. / / This pic was voted in the top ten of a challenge / in the group “Rivers, Lakes and Dams” then / selected for the home page, my very first such honour. / Then it was featured in the PEACE, LOVE & TRANQUILITY Group. / Recently it was picked in the top ten in the avatar challenge for the Black with a touch of colour group. / Thanks to all who voted for it. / Many thanks to the hosts of all groups for their encouragement! /

  • Captured on Princess Stree in the darkness of the dawn light. I just love light-trails from vehicles in these kinds of pictures. I had to stand in the middle of the road with traffic flowing past in the early hours to get this shot, but I think it was worth the danger;) I was born in Edinburgh Scotland, and was always amazed as a child at the crowds of people along Princess Street. It always seemed to be teeming with life. Today Princess Street is being ruined by the local council’s traffic schemes and most of the high class shops have been replaced by tourist shops selling garbage. IMHO:-) One day it will spring back into life again, I’m sure. / Captured with Nikon D700 and 24-120mm: On a tripod with a small aperture and daylight WB setting, ISO 100. Long exposure.

  • A beautiful yellow Lilium hiding in the back of the garden peeking out from the shadows of darkness. Shot with a Canon 400D 18-55 with two stage extension tube.

  • Darth doing a little tending of his wildflowers.

  • After this mornings well received rain this small emerging flower peeked out from the shadows low in the garden. “You don’t take a photograph.  You ask, quietly, to borrow it.”  ~Author Unknown Canon 400D – Sigma 70m – 300 macro.

  • Tilia, commonly called Linden or Lime is a family of trees that has many uses. One of the more peculiar being a treatment for hysteria. This image shows a detail. oil on canvas / 120×80 cm. / original sold
