This image is inspired by the photography of Bill Henson and the taste for darkness, texture and creating a subliminal energy. The focus of the sprawling arms as they cut diagonals through the image to the dark silvery tones help create the ambiguous nature of the image – is it uplifting or helplessness. You decide.

Drawn 2008. Age 21 This is my final vision of my original Pain sketch that was quickly drawn during a thinky night. This picture is inspired by the book i’m writing… I poured a lot of emotion into this picture, but it seemed to create itself. I tried to illustrate the physical agony of self-harm whilst tapping into the psychological and emotional trauma that prompt such self-destructive actions. Is the Grim Reaper really there? Or is it a symbolic portrayal of her own demons…? Ultimately, rather then fear I wanted to create an image that evokes feelings of sadness and regret… despite its dark and sinister tone.

My question is.. How do you feel and react when you know that your marriage is over? I personally can’t imagine the feeling but I have seen my best friend and model go through it first hand and it’s a total feeling of loss, hopelessness and sadness. My apologies for being melancholy but this is the unfortunate reality for many couples. Again, thank you to my beautiful model and friend…...

Soaring to a celestial kingdom, Heaven cries for all of those who will never open their eyes, never see love, never know true happiness…. Heaven’s Cry took 7 hours, which is about 3 hours longer than my average amount of time on a piece of work….the wings alone took 3 hours….pencil on bristol board, i am very happy with the results….

This is my 3rd and final piece in this series and I believe it closes this chapter yet leaves the door open to endless possibilities. This piece represents the past , present and a greener yet unwritten future. I believe we are all very resilient; can come through hardship and triumph in our unpredictable journey through life…...
