  • Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans Get up from your seat and get out there Live a little Who knows? You might even end up having a good time.

  • Sometimes we are lucky to bear witness to some of life’s golden moments; A baby’s first steps, a proposal, a reuninon between friends… or a child’s first touch of snow. This was their moment – hopefully one of many. And I was lucky enough to be at the right place, at the right time, to capture that moment. Lady luck must’ve smiled to me on that day.

  • I have a soft spot for children. And balloons. Mix the two, and you got me chasing this kid down the street to get a clear shot! Taken in Bergen, Norway in 2006

  • My first attempt at HDRI – shot at the coast of Norway in 2006.

  • Shot in January in the city of Aarhus. The name of the street (slash river) is Åboulevarden, in case anyone ever visits Denmark and happens to be in Aarhus ; ) And yes, it’s made from two exposure – I wasn’t THAT lucky with the sky!

  • Shot at the trainstation in Aarhus, Denmark in January – a train was leaving the station, and as I walked up along the carts, I noticed this guy sitting there. I moved a couple of carts ahead, put the viewfinder to my eye, waited for him to get in the picture – and snap.

  • This Nightjar is rarely seen but is relatively common along the entire East Coast of Australia. My neighbour is a volunteer wildlife carer for “WIRES” (Wildlife Information Rescue & Education Service Inc.) here in NSW and looked after this lovely bird when it was found with an injured wing. The carers for WIRES do an amazing job and pay out of their own pocket to feed and support the wildlife they look after. If I can, I would like to help these wonderful people by donating the proceeds of the sale of this card to assist them. • This is dedicated to the Danish 49’er team, who after the most dramatic 24 hours in the Danish history of the Olympics, finally had their gold medals confirmed. This is just a low-res. picture taken a couple of years ago of an IMX match-race held off the coast of Bornholm. It has nothing to do with the very light 49’ers competing in the Olympics. It is, however, the only sailsport photo I’ve got. After 12 preliminary races the Danes were 1st. On the way out to the start of the final so-called medal-race, which is a final between the best 10 boats, their mast broke. They desperately headed back to port while the 9 others made a start in very rough weather. They borrowed the Croatian boat (thanks awfully from the whole of Denmark, Croatia), races out to make a start just within the time limit and started the troublesome hunt for the others. As mentioned, the weather was quite nasty on the light craft, and every boat capsized at least once. In some way, the Danish team managed to finish as no. 7, which was enough to hold the accumulated first place. As if this wasn’t troublesome enough, there were several protests after the race. Some of these were quite understandable, the ones complaining about the harsh weather conditions. While others, complaints on the Danish team using another boat than their own, to us show a great lack of Olympic spirit and sportsmanship. Fortunately the committee rejected all protests, and the much earned gold medals were safe in the hands of the Danish team. This was, however, not decided until this morning, 24 hours after the race, and the two young lads, Martin Kirketerp and Jonas Warrer had a terrible night. Congratulations lads.

Ah the fabled cherry—the poetic color of luscious lips, and just as sweet. It started out in West Asia (perhaps the Persia-Armenia region) and in two varietals from which all cultivated cherries are descended: Prunus avium (sweet) and Prunus cerasus (sour). Sweet cherries had spread to Ancient Greece and the Mediterranean by 300 BCE, for Theophrastus mentions them. And Pliny the Elder (1st century AD) mentions that some 8 varieties of cherries were being cultivated in Italy—and that the Romans were spreading them as far north as Britain. The British, in turn, carried it to the New World in the 17th century (Beyond the huge crops in Michigan, California, Oregon, and Washington, American wild cherries include the chokecherry, the pin cherry, and the wild black cherry. Sour cherries have spread even farther north, and are a speciality of Germany and Scandanavia. Today it is estimated that some 900 sweet varieties (ranging in color from yellow to black) and some 300 sour varieties are being grown. Most sweet cherries will produce fruit only after they’ve been cross-pollinated—honey bees usually do the leg work, carrying pollen from a sweet cherry of another variety soupsong.com See some samples of the collection below, and view the entire collection to date, at the Bubblesite HERE / Plum Blossom with Apples and Cream / / Sour Cream Bumbleberry Tart with an Apricot Glaze / / Ginger Shortcake with Nectarines and Creme Fraiche / / Spicy Chewy Ginger Cookies / / Chocolate Cupcake with a Mocha Swirl / / Cinnamon Bun / / Scone with Berries and Cream / / Lemon curd and Blueberry Tart

  • Named by Sunset magazine as one of the “10 Most Beautiful Small Towns in the Western United States,” Solvang’s rich heritage dates back to 1911 when adventurous Danish-Americans traversed the plains from Iowa to establish a settlement in the golden state of California. They purchased 9,000 sun-drenched acres of the former Rancho San Carlos de Jonata and situated their new community adjacent to the historic Old Mission Santa Inés. To preserve and promote Danish culture, the founders constructed a Danish folk school and church (the building now houses Bit O’Denmark Restaurant, 473 Alisal Road); then built Atterdag College, which opened in 1914 and educated through 1970 (now the site of Solvang Lutheran Home, 636 Atterdag Road). What a great place!!!!!!!!!! My family are on the steps of the Windmill. /
