I wanted to do an image with penguins This was a reaction to discovering that they are 100% mongomous to their partner throughout their whole life. The researched success rate of staying loyal to their mate was 100%. However I wanted to contrast the monogomy of penguins with a belly dancer in a harem. The reason for the harem was that it provided the right environment for contrast, given that Sultans were the opposite of monogomous having been known to share their lives with so many wives.

I did this painting in very thick acrylics. I thought of the Fancy Dance competition with all their regalia then decided to use color theory in their dance outfits so the battle is just not in the dance but in the colors.

My very first layers with photoshop…just my first steps but many things to come…I hope…I took a photo of a personnage created for le Jardin Botanique de Montreal.The dancer was over the water and the shot was taken at night,I cut all the black and add some texture.I’ve duplicated the dancer and did a mirror illusion so the arms would cross like the 8 of infinity.The lights inside the paper statue were magic!! / This would make a great card for celebrating friendship… / / /

12×18 pastel on Wallis sanded paper (Belgian mist) There is just something about a woman with a snake wrapped around her! It is such a strong symbol of the kundalini energy and the sacred feminine. I have always been drawn to the ancient snake priestesses. The very first tattoo I had to have at 18 is of a woman with a snake wrapped around her. Working on this was almost liking working on a portrait of myself from a past lifetime(why couldn’t I have gotten that body in this one ;).....
