I used to call it my ‘flying machine’ and lurve cruising @ 240kms per hour and muse at how everything seemed to go in slow motion and the earth would writhe beneath me. I want to share my celebration with you groovers. I just wanted to share my nasty little creation with you. It took seconds to do. and the rest of my life spent committed to understanding the series of convoluted invisible installations that were driven home that day. the 3rd march 2000. / Hello sister morphine…...alot of strange 3rd person journal entries….......a shift in thinking and screaming ! so yes! i am enjoying every tiny part of my life now, i love what i am doing with SHOOTERS GALLERY i have found a way to continue being creative and share it with others and the coolest people as well, Now, more than ever, i have no time for ego trippers, arrogant arseholes, time wasters, attention seekers or any other negative trip. I used to be tolerant (of stuff) but no longer….......my injuries have made me become as ferocious as a wounded tiger and use it in my art which has just morphed again and i love it. it doesnt look that bad this way up but head first up a rock wall airborne and land on the roof…....hurt. Since then i see my life and others in a completely different light, / kind of like what HDR does to images. i remember flying back into my body and waking up finding my body convulsing and forcing myself to survive. I was a single mum with a son 9 years old and a daughter 8 years old who were at school. I was in between life and death for a very long time. i kept leaving. it took an hour for me to be found and then 1/2 hour to get me out. in the next 7 years i spent trying to get back into my life, reconstructing tiny parts to rebuild it. i am still doing it, i lost absolutely everything. / i realised that some seeds take alot of pressure before they crack and new life that has been dormant for years finally comes into existence. that’s was how i made sense of it, and decided to stay.

That wasn’t the case (it’s Leeds United) but to be frank that made little difference – I’d show up if I had nothing better to do, which in this case was the case since I had leftovers in the fridge! / This premiere wasn’t one I had particularly bold ambitions for, which was good because the one actor I wanted to show up (Colm Meaney) didn’t, and two actors who weren’t in the film I wasn’t in a position to photograph (Battlestar Galactica’s Jamie Bamber and Harry Potter’s Emma Watson). Never mind.. / Michael Sheen plays the lead character in this film (I don’t know who that is), and the character of Prime Minster Tony Blair in the film ‘The Queen’ / He’s some kind of famous soccer (all right, ‘football’) commentator who plays himself in the movie. Wireimage has proven unhelpful, so I’m going to call him George Lazenby. / Actor Jim Broadbent won a best supporting actor Oscar for ‘Iris’ in 2002, played Harold Ziedler in Moulin Rouge, will be in upcoming Harry Potter movies, played Renee Zellwegger’s Dad in the Bridget Jones films and was in the most recent Indiana Jones film. And the worst of them, at least that I own, is the 12 inch angle grinder. It’s the mother of all cutting instruments and it combines all the elements to make it really dangerous – heavy, unwieldy, awesomely fast and with momentum that gives it a life of its own. Mostly I leave it on the shelf. But today I really did need it for something. OK, the job was cock-up from the start. And it was late and I should not have been anywhere near using the angle-grinder. But I wanted it finished. The trouble with this is that you make mistakes. And I made a big one – suddenly the bastard had kicked into gear and was careering across the work bench taking out other tools and huge gauges out of the wood. FUCK, FUCK, FUCK (and I don’t swear) but I that was too damn close. That could have been fingers, legs, eyes. Bloody stupid and bloody lucky. My guardian angel was on over-time. Some little incidents you just don’t tell your wife. So I will leave it with you bubblers.

According to a newspaper (The HeraldSun perhaps) The Right Dishonourable Rudd (Kevin) needs only 3 hours sleep per night. Perhaps that explains why he dreamt up such a wonderful stimulus package whereby people earning $300,000 get $950 cash gifts which go straight into the bank because they don’t need them, while others who are on very low (or NO income like me) get nothing – zilch. So we are moving this weekend, and with moving comes the inevitable internet outage. Aack! And while contemplating tonight the deep dark hole the absence of Redbubble will create in the centre of my being until I get my internet back I realised a pretty amazing thing… I have been a member of Redbubble for two years now! For a person that has a short attention span that’s a pretty bloody amazing achievement in itself. My personal journey as a photographer, thanks to Redbubble, has been an incredible experience but it’s the people I have met, the friendships that I have formed along the way that make this community more like an extended global family, more like my virtual home, that is what has been so important to me over the last two years. So instead of prattling on about what I have done and achieved as a photographer I thought I would take this opportunity to give thanks to a just a few of the people that, thanks to Redbubble, I now feel blessed to count amongst my friends. My darling heart, LisaG for mentioning one day in passing that I should “check out this new site called Redbubble”. And for being my constant support person. Mel Brackstone for always finding the time to answer all my stupid questions in a way that didn’t make me actually feel stupid. So, being the really stupid bugger that I am, I could not “switch off” thinking about these issues even while I was “switched off” the net. Did manage to do SOME of my own work, but even that process was filled with “what on earth is going on on RB” ridiculous thoughts… The main issue that was central to my thoughts was the completely new addition to the “RB rules and guidelines” – the addition of an “appeals process’. In fact, the addition of an appeals process is an excellent thing, and must contribute constructively to the functioning of any grouping of people, be it a classroom, an organisation, or a society governed by law. My unfortunately obsessive rumination was, however, primarily on the issue of how would this new appeals process impact on the core problem here at RB at this time – the PERCEPTION in the community that the rules and guidelines have been – and are – commonly applied unfairly and inconsistently. My conclusion to this question now turns out to be that the addition of an appeals process will have NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER on the PERCEPTION in the community that rules and guidelines may continue to be applied unfairly and inconsistently. I have been forced to accept this conclusion as, for the new appeals process to even be invoked, there MUST HAVE ALREADY TAKEN PLACE AN APPLICATION OF THE RULES AND GUIDELINES THAT IS PERCEIVED TO BE UNFAIR AND/OR INCONSISTENT! Super duper BIG bummer :p I am NOT happy to have come to this conclusion at all!!! I am quite sure from the general tone in the many community and group forums I have visited of late that many, if not most, members of this community want it to be able to continue to be the safe and robust artists’ community it has come to be. I certainly do! However, if many members of this community are left with the PERCEPTION that the rules and guidelines under which they are expected to operate in the publication of their work and their discussion of their motives etc in creating it MAY be applied in an unforseeable way, there can be no sense of safety and surety in their participation in this community with their art and ideas! I cannot imagine the prospect of having to participate in what may be an incredibly stressful process of review of ones behaviour and art being at all reassuring in the event that a member of this community already feels they have been wronged by an unfair or inconsistent application of “the rules”. As I already wrote – “super duper BIG bummer!” I am extremely glad that I am NOT a member of RB management. I am still quite convinced that the perception of unfairness and inconsistency in the application of the rules to date has most likely been strongly impacted by the HUGE growth of RB, and a resulting stressed and overstretched workforce that does not have the time or resources to investigate all reports and complaints sufficiently to make consistent judgements on them. I have seen this exact same thing happen in other workplaces. If I am totally wrong in this – it would be most useful to have a public reassurance of this from RB management…... I do not believe that ANYONE in RB management and/or admin etc WANTS to be in this current situation. I am SURE that everyone WANTS to be able to apply whatever behaviour rules and guidelines are set as fairly and justly as possible. This is why I conclude that there must be some factor (most likely that I mentioned above) that means this has NOT been possible. So – how to fix???? Damn – if I knew, I’d tell you straight off as fast as I could!!! My only “idea” relates to doing a little ‘going backward’ and righting the perceived wrongs that have taken place. That is – allowing BACK, UNCONDITIONALLY, ALL those whose accounts were unfairly deleted since the confusion re rules and guidelines began in February. Then, judging their behaviour as members of this community under any new rules and guidelines exactly the same as all other members. That would be a clearly fair and ethical act and I am sure would do MUCH in restoring the faith of the community in the goodwill of management and staff. I am not privy to all the factors impacting and driving the inner workings of RB. I sure hope that someone who IS can figure out a possible way of regaining the RB membership’s trust and PERCEPTION that they will be treated fairly and justly in any dispute better than I, with my limited information, am able. I truly wish everyone in RB management etc all my best in resolving this unfortunate and most distressing mess.
