This is to show the happy side of the poor bear a couple of images ago. CathieT had asked about it, so I thought I’d put one up. / It wasn’t quite the style I was aiming for, but at least you can see him smiling :)
Damian Hirst playing Twister,
Sun shining through the plant leaf.
My pet husky, Moet. Added for the pet forum thread :) Whereever you go, he will be there, poking his nose in to see why it’s so interesting.
She emerged from the dark and drifted to the surface. Her naked, pale skin was mostly obscured by her swirling blonde hair. She held his look, staring up at him with longing, and reached for his hand. / Read more HERE The idea for this image was brought about late last night whilst reading a wonderful story in Redbubble titled / In Love With the Ocean / Written by the very talented Damian Model ā Me Artwork ā Me Model Image by the wonderful Barssel
This is a picture from my day job. The red balls are grass pollen, and the tubes from them are growing down into the flower to fertilise the ovary. To get ready for the photo took some serious effort to get the timing right, then use of chemicals to stain the pollen red, then actually get to the microscope to take the photo. After reading in the forums about the paths people have taken to become artists, and thinking of my desire to be one (as in, to be able to spend all my time on creative pursuits), I began to think about what skills I have already from my current path. My challenge was to find a creative application of those skills, because I’m not in a position to give up work. Yet :) I’ve been using photography to record my work for many years, so that was the first and most obvious answer. I just thought I’d throw that up for interest, as it’s not the sort of thing that you would want framed in your living room I’m sure LOL!
A bit of fun from some wedding photos :)
Lost in the desert (well, the beach anyway!)
An idea I had for a photo, and in the absence of a willing body, this one was used!
Fun in the park with a great opening to Spring!
I’ve had Kraken on the mind a little bit lately, so have ended up with this image and my Kraken story. This image isn’t painting a scene from the story, as I didn’t have a commercial fishing ship image to play with (that’s okay, I’m not looking for one…!)
The well worn saddle gear from an outback property.
This poor little bear helps everyone, but gets overlooked itself.
Some very cool work done by Heather King on a self portrait of mine! Thanks Heather!
Looking along a line of very rusty barb wire with a tree behind. The macro has made the bark texture dissolve into smoke.
Okay – I’ve been playing in Photoshop! I’ve decided to run this as my avatar for the moment too. My first avatar was fire; the next air. Now I’ve come home to water.
While taking the photos for this I realised that life would be so much easier if I had models!! The spider was easy to work with, LOL :) Inspired by 50’s B movies, old horror stories and Pulp Noir.
My first effort at doing the ‘poem as image’ thing :) The poem is here on RedBubble. This poem is about my inspiration for creative writing, my muse. She comes to me by night. The demands of the day keep us apart, and I miss her…
I took up Claire Armistead’s project, the self-portrait-a-day challenge on September 9th 2007, and have faithfully snapped away ever since. The rules are that each image has to be taken by yourself, and each needs to include at least a part of your face. A few of the individual pics have made it onto RB in their own right, and others have had turns at being my avatar. I’m about 75% of the way through, but haven’t finished sorting all of the pics, so this is made up of the first 169 days. So here’s more of me than you ever thought (or reasonably expected!) to see, LOL! Through the ups and downs, fun and silliness, grumpy days and sleep deprevation. Mostly the last one though…!
A new avatar image, away with the rose red glasses, and time for a cold, white burn.
An entry for the Flash Fiction Group’s Back of an Envelope challenge. We needed to write the story as something urgent that had been written on an envelope, in less than 150 words. The only reason I write on paper is if I’m going somewhere and need that message left in the real world…
Iām wide awake and dreaming.
