Dam water

  • Taken at Hume Weir Albury, Australia. Despite recent rain the water level in our weir is still very low (around 10%) so many of the old trees that were killed when the valley was damed are still poking through the water.

  • Taken in southern NSW outside the town of Crookwell in June 2007. Despite the long term drought in the are this reservoir remains almost full thanks to springs that provide water to it all year round. As a result while Goulburn the a mere 40kms away had almost no water left, and was on the strictest of water restrictions, Crookwell had a secure supply. / . / . /

  • A droplet of dew on the end of a fern frond, at Strathgordon, SW Tasmania. Strathgordon is the site where 3000 workers were stationed during the construction of the four dams that created the massive Lake Gordon and the new Lake Pedder. The two dams combined cover an area 26 times the size of Sydney Harbour! Find the card version of this image here (needed cropping so none of the image was lost in the card resizing process).

  • As I was letting the chooks out I noticed the drift of cloud across the dam. It came out as though it is a black & white image with the blue added but its straight from the camera.
