I don’t go into Forums that often but there is a very funny one that is show and tell for your pets started by Daijiro. There are a lot of pet lovers on the Bubble so pop in there and leave pictures of your loved ones. I will be interested to see how big the thread can get. Shyggrl you need to put in some pics of Mags and Bronson. See Link below Link to Show and Tell Pet Forum Good on ya Daijiro for starting it :)
*What …
What are we? / Atelier translated from the original French literally means workshop, in particular an artist’s workshop or studio. Our studio is anywhere, but it started in a garage and a back alley, and we’re inviting you in. We are a group of artists on Redbubble united not just by our geography, but our intent to create art in all forms that is provocative, exciting, stimulating and different. We’re throwing in our creative chips together and betting something interesting will happen. We share ideas, gear, wine and food. We are an antidote to the average and normal – a panacea to dull landscapes, cute pictures of puppies, kittens, and kiddies. We’re happy campers – not happy snappers. We want you to open your eyes as if for the first time. / We want you to feel estranged from the everyday. / We want you to dream lucidly and vividly. / We want you to feel naked and exposed. This is not a safe haven. / This is not a comfy chair and slippers. / This is not the family photo album. We are the tap that’s dripping in the back of your mind and the shoe lace you left undone. Do we have a plan? / Only to evolve… Contact Details / backalleyatelier@gmail.com / Or bbmail us Who’s in? / Check our watchlist… How can I watch you? / We upload work in our individual profiles, you’ll need to add members to your watchlist to be informed of all new work. /

/ / Back Alley Atelier – Cold Blooded Nights It was a colder spring night in Melbourne as we gathered at Borsch, Vodka and Tears to eat, drink wine and vodka cocktails, and discuss what needed to be done. We’ve got the props, we’ve got the gear, we’ve got the locations and a guest model Haily Swanson (who may not know what she’s in for). The first location was a skinny and long alleyway in Windsor (Melbourne) clad with walls of corrugated iron. Shots taken here were Shark Attack by Jessica Tremp, Tactile and Our Jezebel by Chris W, both provided with technical and lighting assistance by our favourite cat, Wen (Dajiro Kato), and Shoot The Model by Michman and Hien Nguyen. The props that got a workout here were Sharkie and the ‘hellmet’ constructed by Chris W. The first mild splashes of the Jo’s sweet fake blood were applied discretely. Back at the host studio flat, we crammed in to have a few more drinks, both caffeine and alcohol based, and set up the next shots. After Haily’s encounter with Sharkie, we decided it was time to do something relaxing, such as putting red cat eye contacts in her eyes, silver fang Grillz on her teeth, getting her in a bikini and feeding her a pretty pink cup cake. A little dribble of Jo’s edible blood added something extra as we swarmed around like lens-eyed bees and snapped away. The result was the pin up parody Blood Sugar Bunny by Chris W. Michman also took the shot En Guarde with Jessica dangerously pointing a random sword. After the indoor interlude we decided it was time to head out in to the cold night again for a pedestrian bridge over Dandenong Rd and the park on the other side. Michael had the “Hellmet” next with Chris taking shot Hunting Light. This is where things got messy. Jo drew out the fake blood and the rope and decided it was time to put Haily through her paces by tying her up and splattering her with copious quantities of sanguine lovelieness. The resulting images, photographed by Hien Nguyen under Jo’s artistic direction were Cinematic Homicide (also featuring the knife wielding Michman) and Found. We all hovered around the scene of the crime shooting like the Melbourne Underworld There are still some more images to come from the Cold Blooded Nights shoot and future shoots, you can look out for them by adding Back Alley Atelier and each of it’s members to your watchlist. Work is uploaded in the portfolio of the member that developed or directed the concept and favourited to Back Alley Atelier. You can view all work produced by us in the favourites section of the portfolio. Are there side effects? / We’re all experiencing sleeplessness, emotional highs and lows, possible mild alcoholism, creative expansion, an excess of ideas and a f**k of a lot of fun. We think outside the square and squeeze it all back in to the bubble. Love etc, Back Alley Atelier
/ Back Alley Atelier – Cardboard City !http://images-0…
/ Back Alley Atelier – Cardboard City In a bid to stop freezing the models who are so happy to help out we were holding our next shoot indoors, the venue provided kindly by Jess, who also offered her moving boxes for us to create and destroy a cardboard city. As long as we kept her company and got rid of them at the end. Since this project would require some work the shoot started early in the afternoon hammering and nailing the relevant cardboard together to build our skycrapers. Textas were sniffed, paper was stretched, guns were held and wine was drunk(the last in copious amounts) as the monoliths started appearing dotting the living room. / The night went into full swing after the pizza and the buildings were placed up against a wall and lights waved around haphazardly. Jo changed into her Fifty Foot Woman attire for the shot Nonchalance of the Fifty Foot Woman while Michael kept taking shot after shot, Wen then stepped in taking his own shot of JoZilla destroying the landmarks before a break was called quickly to reset the buildings. A single building was created in the center of the room and with fortuitous lighting the shot Tip came into play, before Jo and Jess went off to test out a few additional shots of Jo. Wen agreed to his first starring role posing as the cop in the Cardboard City, looking as mean as needed and twice as angry. With all the drinks and building images out of the way the last shots Reflections the Second was taken with Jo and Jess lying silently on the floor as camera’s circled over the taking shot after shot. Chris posed the two side by side to take the shot “Enrapt”http://www.redbubble.com/people/transmute/art/223390-2-enrapt and the night wound down to a close soon after. With all the images taken we are likely to see more of the night’s photos up soon enough. Are the side effects still affecting us? / I think it will take a lot before we’ll stop having fun. The cameras are our tools, the group are our help and the world is our studio. Love etc, / Back Alley Atelier
Thank you to my favourite cat Daijiro Kato for the studio lighting tech support, and for being a guru. The future doesn’t yet exist, but we like to think it does. Please also check out this excellent piece by Firedrake
