  • Stumbled across a great display of daffs today, on my way to visit a gallery in Scottsdale, NE Tas, which has been hosting some of my works. Couldn’t drive past without taking some photos! Looks stunning as a card… or a framed print…just in case you were wondering ;)

  • Yes it is 22.12.08 and I went to water the garden as it hasn’t rained for a week or so and to my surprise one of our Narcissus is flowering soon to be followed by others! They aren’t native to this part of Spain, but my daughter really missed daffoldils so we planted some 15 months ago. They flowered last year in January but this one on the North facing wall of our house has already flowered! The tulips and narcissus I planted this year haven’t even poked their heads through yet, so we will hopefully have another lot after these! Texture

  • An embankment covered with daffodils. Derry City, March 2009 / Canon EOS 450D 18-55mm lens with polarizer filter. There is only one poem for this image! Daffodils a poem / by William Wordsworth I wandered lonely as a cloud / That floats on high o’er vales and hills, / When all at once I saw a crowd, / A host, of golden daffodils; / Beside the lake, beneath the trees, / Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine / And twinkle on the milky way, / They stretched in never-ending line / Along the margin of a bay: / Ten thousand saw I at a glance, / Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced, but they / Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee; / A poet could not be but gay, / In such a jocund company! / I gazed—and gazed—but little thought / What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie / In vacant or in pensive mood, / They flash upon that inward eye / Which is the bliss of solitude; / And then my heart with pleasure fills, / And dances with the daffodils.
