I believe this was my first early wake up to go out and shoot a sunrise seascape. Only a couple of weeks back we were at Narrabeen with friends. It was a late afternoon and I just could not believe the colour. I was determined to come back with my camera. That particular morning was just magic. Driving along this almost deserted highway we spotted this Love heart, somewhere between Uluru and Kings Canyon. An amazing piece of work, literally in the middle of nowhere. Hence the title, Love is all around…even in the middle of nowhere….. The Sydney Royal Easter show is a chance for the country to come to town and show the city people what country life is all about. Different competitions, events and showcases are run during the show. Here we have a little piglet taking timeout from the fast pace of the show….amazing that he can sleep as thousands of people try and squeeze through to get a glimpse of all the different animals…. This is Hope my Lurcher, on a snowy febuary day in 2007, she wasn’t that keen on the weather but did oblige me with this quirky shot. I have another Lurcher called Grace as well as Rubicon and Renegade the Ferrets who complete the team, Hope has the nose for finding quarry and Grace has the speed to fill my freezer. Here are the two dogs playing in the snow.

Someone once wrote- One night a man had a dream. / He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from his life. / For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, / one beloning to him and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, / he looked back at the footprints in the sand. / He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. / He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. / This bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. “Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, / you’d walk with me all the way. / But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. / I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.” The Lord replied “My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. / During your times of trial and suffereing, / when you see only one set of footprints in the sand, / it was then that I carried you.”

The Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This shot was taken on a recent work trip, I was fortunate enough to get a little time off to explore KL.

Taken on a very rare snowy morning in Bristol on my way to work. / Its the first time I have shot in the snow and the first time I have used my new tripod, so I was able to get nice slow speeds with a tight aperture. / A little work in PS to correct the colour and sharpen etc. Taken with a Nikon D70 and a CPL.

Shot last year at Buttermere in the English lake district national park. / The small picturesque Church of St James is situated above the village of Buttermere at the junction of Honister and Newlands passes. The original chapel was consecrated in 1507, while the present building dates from 1840, and was restored in 1930. A special feature is the wrought iron ‘Shepherd’s Gate’, at the entry to the porch. There is an antique organ, dated 1820. The East window by Henry Holiday, dated 1893, has Mary, Martha and a cherub head. Wordsworth said ‘A man must be very unsensible who would not be touched at the sight of the chapel of Buttermere’. There is a stone tablet set into the window sill of a south window as a memorial to Alfred Wainwright, the famous walker and author of guidebooks. The window looks out on his favourite place to walk, Haystacks, where at his wish his ashes were scattered. / Shot with a Nikon D70s and 18-70mm lens / 1 shot Raw tonemapped and tidied up in photoshop. /
