I actually took this shot while “You’re not the only one” by Ammonia was playing on my Ipod. Great song fitting image. “Cuts like pins and needles, miles and miles away. I took the shot through the Windscreen of my car. I really like the effect, it seems quite sad and intimidating.

This is another shot that I took on the 5th of May as part of the 24 hours of flickr. It is the shot of Australias own (or better my own, since it is in my backyard) Hills Hoist that was prominently featured at the 200 Olympics Opening Ceremony. / And now I have to learn that it was not even an Australian Invention: Taken from Wikipedia: / “The Hills Hoist is an Australian version of the rotary clothes line, the distinguishing feature of which is a crown and pinion winding mechanism invented by Adelaide based Lance Hill in 1945. This allows this clothesline to be lowered and raised. The rotary clothes line itself had been invented as early as 1855, diagrams of which were published in Scientific American that year. This style of clothes line was popularised in Australia by Lance Hill and is a common sight in Australian and New Zealand backyards. It is considered one of Australia’s most recognisable icons, and is used frequently by artists as a metaphor for suburbia in Australia. Sydney is not only blessed by a beautiful coastline providing us with countless beaches, but also some of these beaches have a “rock pool” at the headland. Why hike for four hours, only to find a bull moose pruning bushes and tree in our ‘burb? We enjoyed a good, long hike with intermittent rain and spotted two bull moose far in the distance. What better welcome home party than this cutie safe in our suburbs. I cropped part of the power lines. D200 and Nikkor 18-200mm And another coy view with a yellow birch leaf. Did not remove road sign from behind his rack. Doesn’t that add verisimilitude? Photo links to my website.
