Carew castle Pembrokshire South Wales is a fantastic location, I walked around this castle a lot last week as we were staying close by. The reflections were superb and here photographed as the sun was going down in the stillness of a warm summers evening a magical and mysterious time. Hope you like it. Taken in Snowdonia, Wales. Llyn Llydaw (from the Welsh meaning Brittany lake) is a lake in Snowdonia National Park on the flanks of Snowdon, Wales’ highest mountain. This long thin lake has formed in a cwm about one-third of the way up the mountain. Snowdon (Welsh: Yr Wyddfa), is the highest mountain in Wales and the third most prominent peak in the British Isles. It is Great Britain’s highest mountain south of the Scottish Highlands, and has been described as “probably the busiest mountain in Britain.” It is located in Snowdonia National Park (Welsh: Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri), in Gwynedd. The summit is known as Yr Wyddfa, Welsh for “the tumulus” and lies at an altitude of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level.

Cwmorthin is a beautiful valley near Blaenau Ffestiniog in the Snowdonia National Park. / The valley once had a thriving slate industry, with four mines, houses and barracks for all the workers. / Nobody lives here now, and even the chapel, seen in the photo, has become a ruin.

A stunningly calm morning on Llyn Dinas in North Wales with a light mist covering the flat calm surface of the lake, and the warm dawn light illuminating the small boathouse on the bank. View the rest of our portfolio here Or visit our own website here
Downstream from one of my favourite places in the whole wide world! / What a shame it is such a pain in the bum to get to. / I’ve been twice now and almost keeled over both times due to the killer walk (relatively speaking, i’m not at all fit) Enjoy

A montage of sketches and photographs from Conwy, in North Wales. I wanted to convey something of the feeling of the clash between ancient and modern and that the modern place rests both on ancient rock and on an ancient human continuity. North Wales is a place of high mountains and deep flowing water, a place where the millimetre perfect culture of straight roads is forced to bend by massive ancient physical features. I am fascinated by the possibilities of combining photographs and sketches, and that a work came have a life as “real” world art and then develops further in the digital electronic world. I must admit I am enjoying working this way. It appeals to me that an image starts out as “pure energy” in the imagination and then becomes a “real” art object but then returns to pure energy in digital form. The nearest thing to an original of this work is the digital file on my PC and somewhere out there in cyberspace. Although I am also offering signed high quality prints of this work as “originals” there is no original in the conventional sense. / / I am working on a couple of ideas for the further evolution of this image.
