Several years ago, back in 1998, on the internet in cyberspace I began typing to a person I had never met in real life. It was just another faceless entity. This man I called mr_angel. The words would flow with ease. We conversed in typing for several years on a daily basis. Then we began to send cards at Christmas time. We confided in eachother. We spoke of many things that we maybe wouldn`t have said to someone else close to us. He was having many difficulties in his personal life. I listened alot and tried my best to help him through those times. He was having many issues to deal with divorce, Dr.`s, lawyers, family, living accomodations, loss of job, the works. I communicated with him through all this.Time passed. A lasting friendship had been built out of this. I helped him the best I could. When things got better for mr_angel, he decided to surprise me. He came to thank my family and myself in person. He traveled many miles to meet the strangers who helped him through the bad times. Then after a few days in our town, mr_angel went back home. / we continued to communicate via phone and the internet. However, mr_angel ran into some difficulties. He was at a gas station and the canopy over the top of the pumps fell and hit him on the head. It knocked him unconscious. He had alot to endure afterwards. I had lost communication with him. The site we were communicating on closed down. mr_angel didn`t have alot of computer knowledge. He had lost my phone number and his was no longer working. He had also moved so I had no address to write him. Circumstances were leading him in other directions. When I had last heard from him, he was having severe headaches, from the accident. I tried many times to locate him. Although I was fearful of contacting his family. I wasn`t sure how things were between them all. I wanted nothing but to know he was alive and ok. Anyhow, several years had passed since I had heard a word or had a card at Christmas time from mr_angel. His last known address I had, but that had changed. I think it was the year 2001 or 02 he had that incident at the gas pumps. I had gotten a card that December. Several months passed and I had heard nothing from him. Then the months became years. I had began to think the worse. I asked other people on the internet that lived in his state if they heard of him. Or knew him. I had contact with some people that lived in the city that he lived in but they didn`t know him. However they had ways to tell whether the person was residing in that town. They investigated and he was no where to be found. I contacted by e-mail the town`s newspaper editor to see if they would have any contact with him. mr_angel had wrote an article in their paper once. I recieved no reply. I began to feel hopeless about the situation. I felt the loss of a great friend. We had communicated on that daily basis, on the internet for more than 3 years, prior to meeting. / Then today, I wake up to the phone ringing. The voice on the other end says, “Hello!” / I yell out “Oh, MY God..(Put his name here), I thought you were dead! Lord have mercy! Thank God! it`s you and you are ok!” He replied ” How about coming to the coffee shop downtown, so you can see just how okay I am”. I woke up the husband and the grandson and we all met for coffee. It was the most delightful morning wake up I have had in years! What a beautiful sight to behold! I pray we never lose contact again. I know we won`t be communicating as often as before. For the circumstances have changed for the better. For that I also thank the good Lord! I`m just so delighted mr_angel is alive and well, and things are looking up for him and his family. He is still divorced, yet I believe there is some understanding and acceptance, which replaced hurt and pain. / Back on mr_angels last visit he saw this stained glass angel and wanted his photo taken beside it. We had sent him the photos afterwards. Those photos were lost somewhere in the shuffle during his moving from place to place So today we revisited that very same angel. We did a remake of the photos. However, the stained glass window with the angel wasn`t the only angel I saw today, and for that I and my family are truly greatful.

  • A sci fi cutie is sent into cyberspace on a mission only she and her superiors know! Originally inspired (rather randomly) by the Queen song “Radio Gaga” this was a holdover work… something I sketched ages ago and only got around to finishing probably a year or so later

  • It was suggested, after I put up “With a little help from my friends” that I turn it into the redbubble logo, so here we go… With a little help from my friends

  • Here is my version of perspective of what redbubble is …for the upcoming Logo challenge ;) With a little help from my friends maybe I’ll win – LOL ;) A few months of bubbling sure to be fun / friends met worldwide and challenges won / No two alike, so far as I’ve seen here / heARTfelt artists of comraderie peers / Loving the comments with kisses and hugs / not very often or seldom questionable shrugs / Best place to be, for creative time spent / Don’t take away my redbubble or you’ll repent. / tkrosevear 2008 doodle art played with in photshop with redfield fractilus plug-in

  • I want to thank Red Bubble in general for existing, it´s such a pleasure to be a member of this fantastic arena of art! I dedicate this humble art of mine to RedBubble and my fellow red bublers! Thankyou! Ellen :)

  • One could imagine the book, venerable as it is, just vanishing into the ether. / It melts into all the other information species searchable through Google’s most / democratic of engines: the web pages, the blogs, the orlglns of printed and broadcast news, / the general chatter. (Thanks for everything, Gutenberg, and now goodbye) / Now at this point one expects to hear a certain type of sentimental plea for the / old-fashioned book-how you like the feel of the thing resting in your hand, the smell / of the pages the faint cracking of the spine when you open a new book-and one may / envision an aesthete who bakes his own bread and also professes to prefer the / sound of vinyl. That’s not my argument. I do love the heft of a book in my hand, but I / spend most of my waking hours looking at-which mainly means reading from-a computer / screen. I’m just saying that the book is technology that works. / For some kinds of books, the writing is on the wall. Encycolpedias are finished. / All encyclopedias combined, including redoubtable Britannnica, have already been itself in cyberspace. / where it has doubled in size and grown more timely and usable than ever. And those hefty / objects called “telephone books”? As antquated as typewriters. The book has had a life / as the world’pre-eminent device for the storage and retrieval of knowledge, but may be ending, / where the physical object is concerned. Excerpts from: How to Publish Without Perishing by James Gleick, The New York Times. / / Took lots of photos of books in different positions, used filters / created a background from scratch, added gradient and blends / drew the fire and drew the lightning, blurred and opacity change / photo of hands inserted, face inserted, tower inserted, birds inserted

With blogging and Twitter and links between MySpace, Facebook,Plaxo, Redbubble and others, I am busy lately, trying to figure it all out. Until recently my efforts on the computer have been functional not social: MS Word for writing, Xcel and Access for budget, Quicken and Taxcut for business/ taxes and Outlook for e-mails. I still have not learned Photoshop and all the many fancy doodads and hoohas out there that make computing and ostensibly, life, faster and better. I feel as awkward as a certain Deputy Fife in the cyber world. I think this is true for many in my generation. We simply did not grow up with computers and do not “get it” as quickly as our children. But we kinda have an excuse don’t we? When I was in high school , the class of “77” had a solitary computer in the principal’s office. I think it had 64K of memory. That should date me fairly well to you of my generation. As a matter of proud fact, I am 50 years old as of last Sept. and my enthusiasm for novelty not having waned one iota in all that time, I find myself blurting out to my computer programmer, code-genius son, my daily accomplishments with the internet. “Today I took some html tags and added them to my blog on MySpace.” He nods appreciatively. ” I learned to make playlists for my YouTube site and my MySpace account. They play my favorites when I log in!” I say this with dignity and a Barney Fife arrogance; My Sheriff Taylor son is only indulging my boastfulness out of politeness. He tells me about a radio station on the internet that is easier than all that. “Aye yae yae!” But it feels good to learn more and I am proud of myself, having this vain Barney Fife notion that I might be able to keep up. Whoops! Just fumbled the keyboard! I’m good,,,got it,,,just orange juice,,,ooh , darnit all , not the coffee too, Jeepers, criminy what a mess,,,but everythings A-OK Fife’s in the house and is large and in charge! Yeppper! Yessireebob! You betcha! F-I- F-E ! I may not have the e-technical savvy of my Sheriff Taylor son and no I am not twittering yet; have’nt really had time to go there yet. But I am making my way in this strange new world and am good with that. Gotta keep my eye on the flatscreen,,,and my coffee cup,,oops jeepers not again, AND the orange juice,,,,,,,,,, criminy don’t they make these things with cupholders? Cheers, RVG

  • Just one of those things…Unleash the Fairy!!!! When I get around to it, I might add some copy as to why…”Unleash the Fairy!!!!” Something like computer glitches or Trolls listening to your cellphone conversations cookies hooking cookie’n your every click…and and folks lambasting each other in forums or in comment boxes (lawyers working on the litigation angle anything to make money you can litigate for just about anything if you can afford a lawyer)...and and and the military preparing for cyberspace warfare and that nothing ever dies on the Internet (HOLY SHIT!!!! TRUE!!!!!!) and and and and personal security is up for grabs each time you log on (hum picture a “log on”...how long and big is that log on (?) and when logging off is that like a climax (?)...STFU!!! Unleash the Fairy!!!!). Sooner than later we will have to pay just like at a toll booth to use what is relatively free per log on and per click…not counting the cost of the computer software and upgrades and paying an Internet provided to hook us up and other inconveniences you know spam, virus and new stuff developed 24-7 to mess with us…”Unleash the Fairy!!!!!!!!!!!!” / Oh we all will need a good Fairy to make it through a day of Cyberspace or whatever this thing we are in right at the moment is called “The Internet” what the hell does that mean The Internet (OMFG picture this…)...Unleash the Fairy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
