These giant Cuttle fish are able to change colour at will and put on a beautiful diplay with flashinf lights and colours.

Pair of cuttlefish. Taken on a night dive at Port Stephens, NSW, Australia. Cuttlefish change colour/pattern to communicate, camoflauge themselves and intimidate predators. These two are using two different patterns.

The giant cuttlefish is a large species that lives around southern Australia. Full size males can reach a metre in length.
A Cuttle fish try’s tp blend in but was spotted just out the corner of my at the end of the dive. I though at first it was a rock. The small dots you can see are pigment sacks that tey use to change their color. Taken at Cirkeww, Malta.

When I lved in brighton, Sussex, cuttle fish bones were 10 a penny, here in suffolk this is one of the first I have seen washed up on the beach.. I just love the shape and such detail. / Found on Southwold Beach, Suffolk / Nikon D200 ISO 400 1/160 f22
