A very popular animal here in New Zealand at the moment. Someone somewhere decided milk was worth more than it was getting, and suddenly NZ is no longer a country of sheep, but of dairy cows. They even briefly considered making it an icon of NZ… / I don’t like dairy farms, but I won’t rant about it here. Catherington is where I have been going lately to take photos at the Pond and more recent in the cemetry. There were lots of wild rabbits there today, I managed to get up close and lay on the grass to take some shots. *Have you seen this other cutie too

We have a berry-bearing bush outside our kitchen window that offers treats to our feathered friends all winter… or at least until they have eaten all the fruits. Last year the fruit was limited due to a late spring frost, but this year there is an abundance-much appreciated during times of extended snow-cover when it can be difficult for birds to find food. One of my favourite past-times is watching our visitors enjoy the bounty and they often repay us with a song. This cheeky fellow stopped by yesterday.
