Amphibia Bubblemania / Like frogs? When i was a youngin, my mum, Suzie, drove us around everywhere in a little bright green gemini, named aptly ‘Suzie’s Tree frog” / Her tenpin bowling league team name was ‘The tree frogs’ / and she adores frog sculptures, bric a brac…anything frog related! / I grew up surrounded by cute lil froggies everywhere lol.. / even had some pet ones for awhile, but they didnt get along too well with our tortoise :) / My mum, Suzie, She was very inspirational in the making of this piece. Plus also, Kristina (my aunt) has mentioned that she likes frogs, and the colour purple, which also influenced this piece, as I wanted it to be something Kristina would like, and compliment her gorgeous photograph misty sunset / created in ps / frog photos sourced from public domain / background photo coutesy of kristina / misty sunset / / colour overlays, burning, dodging, layering, etc. / / thankyou for taking the time to view my art and (hopefully) comment… / please have a look at my other artwork… / hope you enjoy! :) /
You think your life is odd… You have 4 seemingly stable dimentions / to go about your shopping in… Based on sketches for a Childrens (+ adult childrens) book I am working on. Created from many pen doodles on reverse side of junk recycled band pamphlets (Snow Patrol – YAWN) from my old job… scanned in and some good old photoshopin’ Enjoy trying to find all the little secrets, enjoy watching your friends scratch there academic heads at this one… Makes M C Escher look like an accountant :P Peace skateboard? /
Original is 4”x6” acrylic on panel. I painted five of these monster portraits as part of my solo exhibit, “Proof of Faith” at Art Whino in Washington DC. Each has some item being suspended over his head, and the item is what helped define each title.
8”x10” acrylic on wood panel – please see www.artwhino.com to purchase the original. Just a fun piece about being a kid with a monster for your best friend, looking forward to the obstacles that await. When you’re young, the world will tell you that you dream too big. That sort of pessimistic lie is just a minor setback.
