This is a Pacific Black Duck, who I spent some time getting close to. He was sitting by a pond in a rather isolated part of the Mount Coot-tha botanical gardens in Brisbane, Australia. What was just going to be a practice session ended up in some great shots, as this duck was a great poser! Half-way through his modelling session he waddled right up to me – it was one of those nice moments that happen surprisingly frequently in nature photography.
