There is a tshirt and a card in this design… / Kameko is from the ‘Asia Series’ by Karin Taylor / / This piece took a lot of time and patience, I hand painted lots of paper in different colours and cut into tiny pieces to create my mosaics. Then I drew my design and layed the tiny pieces down and glue them all on. Painstaking! I then worked on the image in Photoshop to give it a softer look, I used the filter called ‘Ink Outlines’ and another filter called ‘Watercolour’. In Japanese Kameko means ‘tortoise-child’ symbol for long life. I thought it appropriate, given the tiles which resemble tortoise shell

Tortoiseshell describes a coat coloring found almost exclusively in female cats. Cats of this color are mottled, with patches of red and black, chocolate, or cinnamon.
