Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles, California, detail. Architect: Frank Gerhy. note: home page feature 9/22/08 Sold on April 4, 2009 as a large laminated print on black. / Sold on June 2, 2009 as medium framed (black/flat) print on bright white matt. / Pair with… / and… / / / NOTE: Crossroads was nominated to the Pay It Forward group by Geoff Coleman and here is what he had to say: “There is an effortless grace and perfection in Julian Escardo’s architectural compositions that make him, by far and away, the best photographer of line and form I’ve come across anywhere. It’s a rare thing for an artist to add value to another artist’s work but that is what Julian does in his images of architect Frank Gehry’s buildings such as Crossroads.” I am grateful for this as I am to be your contact Geoff – I also am (and have been for some time) a keen enthusiast of your work, thank you!

This is from a series I produced a few years ago in my homemade, primitive yet functional darkroom. Sadly, my enlarger now lives in the bottom of a cupboard :(
On my way home from the city wanted to capture the S curve in the Monash Freeway near East Malvern setup the tripod and aimed the camera through this bloody annoying fence, it was too high for my tripod so i had to zoom in a bit to miss the pailings. White Balance was tinkered with in Lightroom, 30 second exposure at f 11, focal length was was 37mm at ISO 100 Sales 1 Greeting Card Click here for my other images of Melbourne Click here for my other photos of the Monash Freeway
We were vacationing in Iran and there were these mausoleums and tombs in tribute to great poets, architecture reminiscent of old Islam and gorgeous tiles and organic paintings on the walls. This shot was almost unintentional, I noticed the light and the shadows and just took the shot, this one shot. I didn’t even look at it on the digital screen of my camera, there was so much beauty around me I didn’t want to waste time, I didn’t want to miss anything. I didn’t see this shot again till I uploaded the pictures onto my laptop. This picture is a reminder of the beauty of Iran.
Old railway tanker, captured in the early morning.

During a product shoot for a hip hop band, I caught Alex in between outfits. As she was facing away from me the light on her back was incredible. I asked her to freeze. She turned slightly and I took this picture. Model: Alexandra Rodionova / http://www.alexandrarodionova.net / Photo by Jef Harris / http://www.jefharris.net

This Really Isn’t one of those photos you can just take a quick glance at and think you’ve seen everything there is to see….you have to look at it slowly, take in the lines of the road, how the straight and steep upward road has been twisted and distorted by the cylindrical merging, the curve of the horizon that seems to mirror the edge of the road, the curves of the tidal swell in the bay…. and then the sky and the land far down… I took [link] this photo from the same location, but there was no indication of scale, which ruined it. But in this one you can get an idea… Look on the right, at the coastline, on the land you see the combined town’s of Somerset West, Strand and Gordon’s Bay. Now where the land meets the water, can you see the 40 storey tall apartment buildings? (these buildings? [link] ) NO? well good, then you start to realize the magnitude of the sky and the clouds in this photo… This is a panorama of 6 shots, merged in PSCS3, i boosted the vibrance and contrast, And another really nice thing i’ve come to discover is the blacks, a function of the RAW tool. I boosted that, saved them as PSD’s. merged the PSD’s. levels, curves, saturation. This was taken close to the top of the road leading up to the Steenbras dam water purification plant above Gordon’s bay, South Africa…. sorry about broken links….pasted this from da and rb’s link tag is too much trouble
