Remains of an old farmhouse, Currency Creek, South Australia.
Heavy rains at last – but taking top soil and silt with it as it flows across a small waterfall at Currency Creek, Fleurieu, South Australia. A powerful stretch of water but very brown in colour!! Shot with a Canon 400D, 2 second exposure, 18-55 lens with ND4 filter.
Like ‘Street Scene’ this is based on a snapshot taken with a cheap camera in my local area (St. Kilda, Melbourne, Aus). There’s an air of ‘honesty’ about a snapshot that makes them even more fun to subvert… and for the benefit of those groups that require a technical breakdown – the tree is cut from a photo taken on the same day and shaded with the burn and dodge tools. the waterfall is built from 6 six layers of the same picture, each with a different filter in the layers pallette, and given different degrees of opacity, blur, contrast etc. that’s all i’m willing to give away! / This one is obviously a product of the current climate of fear and uncertainty surrounding our environmental and material safety….
In God We Trust” is etched on the edge of the American gold dollar. / In these trying financial times… we really should believe in our All-American motto written on our money! /
Original digital photograph. Taken with a Sony Full HD 1080 Cyber Shot camera. / Found a bag of money from our travels, this isn’t even all of it!...Most of the time I would give it to the children of our hosts, as it was so difficult to change back into US dollars…plus I saw there was a challenge about currency, so what the heck! / / Thank You for viewing my art. / VIEW susan’sgallery / VIEW susan’szazzle /

This is a new 3 part series I am doing… This is part 1 – Spending in fear. The GLOBAL economy is in meltdown and everyone is feeling the effects. On one hand we have to spend money to get the economy going but on the other hand we have to save our money to be able to provide for our families… For many both saving and spending is done in fear this is my art with a message / much love / Shoaib —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / Stock photos by sxc.hu stock exchange
This is Part 2/3 in the Currency series “Dream for a better tomorrow” There is one is supposed to depict how we are “blinded” by money and our own problems at home and don’t see how others in poorer countries are also being affected. In difficult times we all dream for a better tomorrow for ourselves, friends and families. A little over a year ago I went to these small waterfalls at Currency Creek with a friend and fellow photographer. Unfortunately it was his last shoot with me as he passed away only a few weeks afterwards in a car accident. It has taken me that year to feel comfortable enough to go back here and being a similar time of the year get images that were along the lines of those we took. So in memory of Darryl Williams I post this soft and gentle flowing stream. A reminder of the fragility of life and its ever flowing path. Chocolate in colour from the earth that it shifts as it passes from inland to coast the falls are located inland from the Lions park car-park at Currency Creek South Australia. Canon 400D – 17-85 lens, Polariser with a tripod.
Australian Coins. / Using an olypus c770 camera on macro mode. / Unedited believe it or not.
For a few year Canadian Pennies were made 12 sided and with a bit of patience and steady hands I can stand a penny on edge on top of another penny standing on edge.
