  • Shimpū Tokkōtai (jap. 神風特攻隊) is the Japanese name for the Kamikaze special troops. Kamikaze (jap. 神風, literally: “God-wind”, “god speed”, “light wind”, “spirit-wind” or “divinity-wind”; common translation: “divine wind”) is a word of Japanese origin, which in English usually refers to the suicide attacks by military aviators from the Empire of Japan against Allied shipping, in the closing stages of the Pacific campaign of World War II, to destroy as many warships as possible.

  • Napayshni – (nah-PAY-shnee) is a Sioux name meaning “courageous and strong.” This is the first in a series. I plan to paint more animal images with Native American influences. Most of my inspiration for this piece came from Western movies and Native American music. The two movies that really had an impact on me growing up were “Little Big Man” with Dustin Hoffman and “Jeremiah Johnson” with Robert Redford. This painting was created using Painter and Photoshop. The final image is 24×30 and 300 dpi.
