  • The fact that the Thai Ministry of Education refuses to bow to my will is starting to get on my nerves. Their answer here to everything is “Because we’ve always done it this way, it’s tradition”. Tradition just means that something is old, it doesn’t mean it’s right. My friends tell me that I should just go with the flow, and teach the same useless and ineffectual material that has been the standard for so long. I have little doubt that this is a battle I can’t win, but it’s all about the battle anyway, isn’t it? The kids could do more if they were challenged, and I intend to do just that. Anyway, I am still refusing to conform, and still vehemently deny having taught the mattayom 2/4 class to say “That Sucks!” (snicker)

  • Irish hat for St Patricks
