For most of us this is poverty and unhealthy living. I took the shot not to promote or ask for any donation because I believe that they are luckier then us. Being one with nature, far from political pollution, air pollution, recognition, greediness and ambition were many of us suffer from. They are simpler then us in every aspect. No mortgage , no stress and no burdens. In simplicity they are happy and enjoying their life without mumbling or protesting, simply accepting and being satisfied with their life. / One of my masters said that The Beauty Is Beyond The Simplicity. / Thats all folks,,enjoy it and thanks in advance Ant

Firewood for tonight by flyingdocphotos. / Village woman from Bromo, East Java Indonesia. This image was taken in a small village on the outskirts of the Bromo caldera volcanic region of eastern Java, Indonesia. I was playing around with my 100mm macro lens, capturing some spider pictures then this lady appeared down the trail, emerging from the fog. I stood at the side of the road, smilied and raised my camera as she drew close. As she saw me, she smiled, nodded back, posed and I took a snap. Then (I think she thought I was going to take only one photo) she started walking along again, focusing on the uphill path in front of her – and that’s when I clicked my shutter again, capturing this image.
Their life is so simple..perhaps not like all of us / no prosperity nor luxury / no fancy clothes and a fancy bathroom / or fancy cars and a fancy office / fancy house with a fancy kitchen / but they have freedom that none of us has ever known / and they have a nature that none of us ever can compare with / our beautiful garden at home / and they are filled with joy and hope in all circumstances / so if we ever think that we are richer then them..we better think twice!!! PART OF THE “LIFE IS….” COLLECTION “LIFE IS….TRADITION” OLD LADY PULLING UP A BASKET OF GROCERIES FROM THE STREET /
The guys from Wardan Aboriginal Centre and the Noyt Kobori Spirit Dancers really put on a wonderful traditional performance for us at the Busselton Beach Festival…. the music and dance was spectacular and fascinating to see. The amazing part was how many children from the audience got up to dance as well, given the fact that judging by this face, it might have been a little “scary”!!!! Thank you “David”! Featured Art 23 September 2009 / The Beauty of Nature Pū is the Hawaiian name for Conch Shell. A gift from the Ocean, the Pū emerges from the life giving waters with a sound that flows across the ‘Aina ( land ) and Kai (the ocean). The blowing of the Pu, a deep part of the Hawaiian culture, has multiple uses and communicates various meanings in both Religious and secular traditions. Blowing the Pū is sometimes used before a ceremony to mark the official beginning. To blow the Pū is a call to the divine. The blowing of the Pū should always be accompanied by protocol. When it’s blown, how many times and in which directions all have a complex set of meanings. The Hawaiian cultural practice of blowing the Conch shell dates back to ancient times and continues in many present day traditions. Here on Maui as well as the other Hawaiian Islands, Indonesia and the Indian Ocean, sacred protocol surround the blowing of the Pu and define when, where, for what purpose, how many times and in which directions the Pu may be blown. When done properly, the blowing of the Pu produces a sound which can carry for miles across land and sea. This beautiful and distinctive resonance once heralded the arrival of Ali’i (Royalty), the beginning of Makahiki season, and many other notable events. Special shells are cherished and handed down from generation to generation. The Triton trumpet shell is the most common type Pu used today. Many collectors and tourist have little idea of the cultural significance and of the beautiful animal which produced and lived inside this shell. The shell’s spotted inhabitant is the largest snail in Hawaiian waters and the second largest in the Indo-Pacific. When permitted to mature undisturbed, Triton’s trumpets may reach as much as 20 inches in length. Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / My images do not belong to the public domain.
