Yes I know what you’re all thinking…It’s ANOTHER PET DOG!!!!! Don’t panic you arty farty types…it’s only up for a limited time whilst I make some cards for a friends present. Then it will be strictly back to black polo necks and matching berets. Ciao baby. Postscript (Wow I literally just uplaoded this to make cards for a friends birthday. I had no idea people would comment on it! I feel compelled to point out – as those who know me understand – my humour is very dry and ironic. Don’t take anything I say seriously! Young elephants embracing. In Sri Lanka in ancient times the elephant was crown property and harming one was a serious offence. Today there are over 2,000 wild and 300 or so domesticated elephants Sri Lanka. The elephant is still highly regarded and plays a significant role in Sri Lankan culture. Many of the domestic elephants participate in the Perahera festival in Kandy and it is common to share the roadway to Kandy with an elephant and its mahout making their way to the festival days in advance. 10% of profits will assist children’s charities in Sri Lanka.

Here is a photo of my youngest two. My little girl was cold at the beach so her bigger brother gave her cuddles to keep her warm and I was there to catch it.

Here (again) is my little girl and my hubby.. He was carrying her because she wanted cuddles as she was cold..

I guess ferocious kittens need an Oobie every now and then Kitten cuddles a toy cow. Hubby gave him the toy cow, and kitten actually dragged it close and hugged it to himself. Hubby tucked the blanket around him. Winner in the ‘Gives Us A Hug’ Challenge Cafe Contest Thanks to those who voted on it!

We had just been talking with some of the patients at the hospital in Goma, DR Congo. Every now and then my friend Rebecca Zachariah would dissapear. She’s a Doctor so I figured she was off to see a patient. Well she was but not just for medical reasons. Bec had bought a whole lot of stuffed toys from home. Squeezed them into her pack somehow. Then during the trip, she would nick off quietly every now and then and present a little child with a furry friend. No fanfare. She didn’t even tell me until half way through the trip. These kids hardly have any clothes and certainly have little food. In the case of this gorgeous little girl the only thing we were sure she had was polio. Well at the very least after we left she had a furry bear as well. And do you think she was going to let go of it? Did this quick piece for fun.. I miss my old friend, Brown, a stray cat. And sometimes, before i sleep, i’d imagine this image in mind.. And i’d fall asleep feeling him close to me once again. I first drew the chibi and the cat in flash.. then i did the rest of the painting in photoshop..
