WILD & FREE / / Polar bear cubs cuddle-up with each other on an ice floe. What a great sight to see! The sea ice is shrinking at an alarming rate, which has a huge impact for the bears as this is their main hunting ground. More and more bears are being found to have drowned while trying to find the ice, even though they can swim up to sixty miles or so! / / I hope the ice does not completely vanish and that they always have somewhere to hut! Yes I know what you’re all thinking…It’s ANOTHER PET DOG!!!!! Don’t panic you arty farty types…it’s only up for a limited time whilst I make some cards for a friends present. I had no idea people would comment on it! I feel compelled to point out – as those who know me understand – my humour is very dry and ironic. Don’t take anything I say seriously! Young elephants embracing. In Sri Lanka in ancient times the elephant was crown property and harming one was a serious offence. Today there are over 2,000 wild and 300 or so domesticated elephants Sri Lanka. The elephant is still highly regarded and plays a significant role in Sri Lankan culture. Many of the domestic elephants participate in the Perahera festival in Kandy and it is common to share the roadway to Kandy with an elephant and its mahout making their way to the festival days in advance.

Eric (the human) and Vince (the 140 lb Great Dane) share / some one on one time. Vince is such a cuddle bug. / Funny thing is, they weren’t posing. I found / them this way! (My husband and our dog) I had to act quickly for this shot and it ended up / being underexposed – all my other shots / were blurry. Here is a photo of my youngest two. My little girl was cold at the beach so her bigger brother gave her cuddles to keep her warm and I was there to catch it.

I guess ferocious kittens need an Oobie every now and then Kitten cuddles a toy cow. Hubby gave him the toy cow, and kitten actually dragged it close and hugged it to himself. Hubby tucked the blanket around him. Winner in the ‘Gives Us A Hug’ Challenge Cafe Contest Thanks to those who voted on it!

Visited “La Valle des Singes” on Sunday.Valley of the Monkeys,they do amazing work with Monkeys,with conservation,breeding programmes,rescuing.Protection of Primates ect…. This was one of the most heartwarming scenes I’ve ever seen. I almost missed the fact that besides the cat laying on top of the dog, there is also a rat laying on top of the cat! These three animals were the companions of a homeless man. It is so sad that they are all out on the streets, and I have to say that the animals looked more well-fed than the man, and he obviously loves them very much. And the feeling is mutual, because when the man left his spot for a while, those three sweethearts stayed right there waiting for him, despite the fact that there were thousands of people walking by and stopping to look at them. So I would say that they are all very lucky to have each other. San Francisco, CA
